A book is fuel, but not tinder??

New to the game and liking it a lot so far, with the exception of "tinder". Specifically, why cant a BOOK be harvested for tinder? I can shred a newspaper but not a book?

I just died of thist, because I couldnt melt any snow, because I cant make a fire, because EVEN THOUGH Ive got matches, my book full of paper, 2 kinds of liquid fuel, 3 types of wood, and an axe--- not to mention a room full of flammable posters, calendars, curtains, ETC (that I cant grab and use, boooo)-- the game says "nope, youve got no tinder. Youre gonna die. Slowly. TOO BAD SUCKER!"

Other than that nagging at me, its pretty good! Looking forward to more updates.

This is a peeve of mine too, Maybe we should be able to craft books into "paper rolls" that could act like newspaper rolls and be tinder.

Know that sticks become tinder and there are a lot of sticks.

Even though the game differs from real life in what it allows to be set on fire, I think it will not change.

Didn't know you could use sticks for tinder, but yeah I don't see why you cant rip a page or two out of a book to use for tinder. (though I almost always try to keep lots of cat tails on me, they are plentiful and unlimited--and light)

I guess they have to draw the line on what can be used where otherwise we could all just sit back and watch the world burn in a tent made from Canadian flags.
