No Space for Travois?!
(I currently have 1,015 hours in TLD)
And I really like the idea of the Travois as a kind of mobile base camp. But after experimenting with it for about 3 hours now, I have to say that this item doesn't really seem fully developed. I've got completely stuck twice now. Nothing worked at these points. Neither forwards nor backwards. I also wanted to move my base camp (Interloper difficulty) from Broken Railroad to Forsaken Airfield. The first time I was stopped (not stuck, at these locations) with the Travois was right at the destroyed bridge. Less than 200 metres further on in the tunnel, there was "No Space for Travois" again, because of a wagon. Another 200 metres further, "No Space" because of the next wagon... Every time there's "No Space" or I've got really stuck, this means emptying the Travois in several passes to be able to add it to the inventory. All the equipment stowed inside has to be taken out, transported onwards without the sledge (sometimes only 10 metres further on), dropped on the ground and then put back again. Only to find that not 300 metres further on, the next obstacle prevents you from moving on. All this costs an unnecessary amount of time. Especially on Interloper. And therefore fuel, food, water and health. But it costs even more nerves... Not to mention that the loss of condition and the turning circle of the Travois is ridiculously high.
I was really looking forward to trying out the Travois. But after less than 3 hours of playing, I was completely fed up. It's a terrible fun-killer!
There is an urgent need for improvement!

The bug that you get stuck in some places and can neither go forwards nor backwards should be fixed first.
Furthermore, the wear and tear should be at least halved. And the turning circle reduced/or the manoeuvrability with the Travois increased.
It would also be desirable if you didn't have to manually empty and reload the whole sledge to put it in the inventory just because there is a single obstacle - or because you have to repair the Travois. Perhaps it should be possible to pack it and its contents into the inventory - or simply pack the player's inventory onto the Travois so that the player's backpack/the entire inventory can be stowed and removed from the Travois. In any case, handling must be drastically simplified. Otherwise I don't see any benefit in it.

the travoi excels at moving bear and moose , you can now range further for these animals with far less hassle getting it back to base. it works great on flat and slightly slopped land and most times if it gets stuck you just have to unload it move it to a better spot and load it again, nothing really. where it is not worth the effort is trying to use it on hills or in caves. after awhile you will know what it can and cant do and then avoid things in your path that will stall you.

The travois is great when you use it on moderate load and flat ground and doesn't take that much damage on snow, but takes a lot on ice, wood, roads and rocks. Saved me a lot of time already, but I never load it up fully if I can help it. There were quite a few times when I got tired when exploring and instead of slogging home, I just loaded up the excess weight to the travois and happily strolled home at full speed.

You can put all your inventory in the travois with one click and get it back with one. Just careful with ruined stuff, as that disappears. Lost a ruined Lily's pancake like that.
