No more guaranteed flare gun in ravine???
That was the whole point of going there besides birch bark, deer hunting, and a stim, all of which you can go without needing

I'm aware loot changed but I didn't think it was that extreme. Braving that rope climb in interloper is no longer worth it I guess. If you have to risk there should be a guaranteed reward, NOT a "maybe". And what happens if there is no flare gun at the Summit or in the new zone? ♥♥♥♥ outta luck I guess.

Same for summit.
Now you can sometime find a case with either the pistol, flare shells or both.
I got neither on my summit run...
The ravin is still useful to go the upper part of bleak inlet where the aurora codes are.

BI isn't useful on interloper.....

BI isn't useful on interloper.....
If your end game region is CH and even ML, Ravine is definitely worth visiting once just because of cattails. Then because possible heavy hammer spawn and lastly but arguably most important a great place to get a bunch of birch bark.

Spawned DP, had 2 hammers before I left CH. Point still stands, BI is useless on Interloper, and can easily live without ever visiting Ravine for either deer hunting or birch bark. Taking away the guaranteed flare gun on interloper just made the region another place to autowalk through.

Ahh, lucky you. Hammer seems to be bane of my existence in every playthrough xD

Totally agree on BI. I usually go there more because of boredome in late game than anything.

I still like Ravine a lot. It's so small region yet packed with everything. It's nice to go there once in a while and camp in cave not worrying about wolves.

Flare guns seems warranted (Interloper) in Keeper Pass North, in a difficult to access shallow cave on the river, in a path subject to wolf ambush.
Forsaken Airfield rescue the helicopter crash.
Zone of Contamination, in a locked container "cabin" inside mine, there with 6 shells.

TWM you have the summit (Matches, flare gun), PV is great for hunting and loot, MT you need to go there to get to HRV which also has good loot for interloper (signal fire). The old flare gun spawns were perfectly fine, you shouldn't have to go to the far territory to get a flare gun since you mainly only use it early game to defend yourself before you get a bow. If you're going to the far territory you have a bow already so a flare gun isn't really necessary. This seems like hinterland just making the "hardest" difficulty artificially harder and changing ♥♥♥♥ for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason, it was already hard enough.

most of these comments say where the new stuff is but it is randomness that got it there although some spots are still hand picked for various loot.
i think that the flare gun sould be removed from interloper because its too powerfull and instead we sould get the revolver with a couple of bullets

are there guaranteed matches? Every time I feel like matches are guaranteed because I found them on a few runs, they dont show up on the next. Do you know of any locations?

Yes, even in Interloper some places have guaranteed matches, e.g. AC Angler's Den - but the location inside varies, some caves in HVR...
