tips for the Zone of Containment

Hello folks, been avoiding the Zone of Containment because I really don't like glimmer fog, and the idea of poison wolves and pools scare me. But I am working up the nerve to try it out.

I'm playing on voyager difficulty. I'm not great at the game, but I'm experienced and somewhat competent. I like sightseeing and looting, lulz.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

If you don't mind spoilers, you could watch a couples videos on the zone.
Otherwise, just beware of wolves, they are not afraid of fire, they detect your from greater distances and they don't even have meat on their bones ! So be prepare to kill them.
Watch out for your shoes when going into poison areas as they degrades really fast there.
If you get fully poisonned, you lose your well fed bonus and have to wait 72 hours or use a stim to not be poisonned anymore (there are lots of stims in the region but still try to avoid that).

There are a few gas areas inside the mine so either find and use the respirator or run through it (better travel light for that so don't bring unecessary stuff), if the timer reach zero, it's end of the run for you so watch out. All the gas areas I have seen in videos can be run though in around 20 seconds when not encumbered (with a 45 sec suffocate timer), so the respirator may not be that useful.

There is iniatlly lots of food in the buildings, but once it's used up, I don't think there is a lot of renewable food source. Wolves have no meat. I have seen a bear and a couple bunny groves, but no deer.

Bring multiple Emergency Stims in case you get nabbed by a Chem Wolf or two…
