Item requires ingredients you don't have
Started getting this error when trying to cook any recipe, in pot or skillet. Just a day before everything worked well. Can anybody explain what's going on? I doublechecked that I indeed have all ingredients, and the game doesn't specify what exactly I'm lacking.

You need to set the privacy for that screenshot to Public for anyone (besides the devs) to be able to see it here.

But there is an odd bug affecting some people where the weight of recipe ingredients shows one thing while in inventory, and is reported lower when you pull the recipe up at a fire (so if you only had "just enough" the game suddenly thinks you "not quite enough"). I have a feeling you just ran into this bug.

Ah, okay. You have more than enough water and more than enough oats- but do you have a cooking pot? You need a cooking pot to make porridge.

Thank you for reply. I updated screenshot visibility, should work now.
No, I don't think it's related to the amount of ingredients, because I made sure I have more than enough of them in inventory. And same error appears for porridge (in the screenshot), as well as for bannock.

Yes, I do, just checked again that I selected pot. Without it, porridge doesn't even show up in a list of available recipes.

Okay- if you have a cooking pot on the fire, and you very definitely have more than enough water and oats- you have some sort of weird bug. Some items require a higher Cooking Skill level, but Porridge is Lvl 1 Skill level- there should be no way you can't cook it if you have everything.

Verify game file integrity to make sure yo didn't ens up with a missing or broken game file. And if the problem keeps up after a successful game file integrity verification- report the bug: https://hinterlandgames.zendesk.com/ and make sure to attach the screenshot (and any others that may be related) and your session log or savegame so HL Tech Support can see what the heck is going on. It's a weekend though, so don't expect anything more than the automated reply that your report was received until Monday or Tuesday when they are back at work again.
Set the save aside and play another one and see if it happens again on a new save, maybe? That could help narrow down if you have a single borked save (if the other one has no issues) or maybe something weird going on with your security software blocking a file from being read for some reason.

Re-entering the house didn't solve the problem, but restarting the game and loading save, made cooking great again. Just in case anyone will encounter the same bug. No idea what caused it.

Yeah, I checked the integrity, everything is ok. Cooking worked in the same playthrough before, and was fixed after restarting the game - I didn't even change anything in inventory. Weird stuff. There's just too many bugs I'm getting after buying the DLC, may be I should wait until the next update, hopefully it will be less glitchy.

Yeah, I still love the game, but am taking a break from it and working on whittling down my backlog until the next content update and hotfix for the numerous bugs drops. The only play I am doing on this game right now are disposable runs, seeing if I encounter the same bugs other people (including my family) are reporting.

Sometimes the game will get some variable set wrong that is not dependent on the save game. Quit and reload won't help that kind of glitch and quitting out of the game then restarting it might be the only way to clear the glitch.
Can confirm this bug hit me today. I made sure I had the right ingredients and the right amounts, and in fact, all of those ingredients are printed in white (as opposed to red when they're missing or under). And I can't cook certain things.

I'm playing on Xbox - I tried quitting and restarting the game, restarting the Xbox, and then a hard reboot of the Xbox, and not of that fixed the issue.
