Can't find moose

I tried to find a moose in 2 locations where I saw the scuffed trees, but after checking the area for 10 day in a row in each location, I haven't seen a single moose.
1- Pleasant Valley - close to the fishing hut
2- Timberline mountain - close to the Wing

Does anyone else experience this?

I installed TLD 11/17/2023. I didn't have this issue last time I played TLD about 6 months ago

Happened to me often. As the moose is not supposed to show up often, I don't know if it's a bug or not. Once, I also wait for the one in TWM near the wing. Never showed up in 5 or 6 days despite the scratches.
Best way to find one is to search in other regions. Ash canyon one is a good option IMO.

I just waited in Mystery Lake for 20 days with no luck and he only showed up when I went to Hush River Valley on day 21.

There are known spawn area for moose but it will not spawn in every game.
You have to check if there are marking on the trees. If you there are marking it will spawn eventually but it may not be worth waiting there rather than exploring other region. And if there are no marking, it will never spawn there and you are definitely wasting your time.

You probably don't want to hear this, but... I just finished a session where I had a moose outside the dam, shot him, skinned him, ate him, then went across the map to the trappers and yep, you guessed it... I shot him too, skinned and ate him.

I waited a full 56 days for that Moose in the Broken Railroad region, I was just leaving when it appeared on the 57th day, so there’s no bug, just the waiting time is very long.

should be still the same game mechanic i guess a long time ago i figured out how the moose respawn works. sometime it helps to change the region, do not wait to close to the spawnpoint.

then if your moose allready spawned in when you enter the map and you did not see that he can despawn (normal way or aurora) and come back later. to get the first moose it helps to go to new regions and search the moose for the first time and you should find one. wait for good weather and enter then a new region go to the spawn locations, a nice spot for the first moose is bleak inlet. so traveling is quicker then waiting.

respawn day after kill and after day 100 is all moosis 133-134 days Bleak inlet 200 days sometimes +8 days maybe spawnbug. if you get the first BI Mosse down around 2 days later you get the 2nd one 2 days later the 3rd one
