They just won't let you get out again.
My three blue torches were abolutely useless like they were just wooden sticks!
And building fires don't bother them at all...so no way for me to get away from there.
Third attempt currently in progress. Route so far: away from BI pretty damn sharpish, and into FM. Stopped at Poachers and found some good stuff, including an improvised hatchet!! Then down to Mystery Lake camp office. Too many wolves to try looting the lakeside cabins, so up to the lookout, then down to the railway and along to the dam. Went through the dam and out and back in again, stopping to cook some meat outside the broken window. Looted the dam on the way back to the trailers outside, which is where we sleep. Then, through to Signal Hill, where I got tracked for a long way by a very persistent wolf (which was quite frightening). Down to the cave under the hill - by this point, I am very, very cold. Even hot coffee isn't enough to stop me going into audible-heartbeat approach to death. Warmed up a bit in the cave and drank more coffee, then staggered my way to Molly's barn, and on to the farmhouse. Looted the farmhouse whilst staggering about like a drunk man. Headed over to the big barn and managed to give a wolf the slip, despite not being able to see or walk straight. Stim #1 found in the truck, woohoo! Decided to set out for the crossroads town, and poked myself with the stim while I was just cresting the bridge. So, arrived at the community hall shortly before the steroids wore off and my exhaustion crashed. Time for a quick nap, then start searching the kitchen... health is back in the white again, although not very far - and I've found a few hats and other clothes, so things are looking up.
Oh, here's some sardines.
Should I?
I did.
Bad idea.
So, I don't have any antibiotics to treat this food poisoning - and I've drunk all the reishi tea that I'd managed to make, to keep warm. This could be trouble. So, off out down to the river to look for mushrooms. Found some! That was lucky. Back to the community hall and time to prepare, boil, and drink some tea. Then time to sleep like the dead.
When I wake up, my health is still in the white, just about. Pesky sardines.
Graves visited so far: none. But I am still alive, which is the best I've managed so far.
Of the deer that I stopped to eat from, I haven't skinned or gutted any of them... which probably isn't great for long term survival. But I'm just living minute to minute right now, which is enormous fun.
Next up, looting the houses here at the crossroads. Then to decide whether to try for the grave on TWM. I think I have one cup of coffee, to help me up the rope along the way, but my health is shot and the weather sucks. Doesn't give me a lot of leeway for being daft :)
This was also a safe run that I just wanted to finish so I didn't take any advantage of my health bar (finished at 100%). Ideally I should have yoloed enough to finish at 10% health to waste the least time possible on making teas and sitting indoors.
So impressed by you guys who are already planning speed runs!
Also, what is the difficulty setting ? Stalker ? Interloper ? I saw some YT videos and at least loot was not Interloper.
