What's the point of energy drinks if you lose all the rested status it gives you?
It only lasts for 30 in game minutes, which is like 2 or 3 real time minutes..the reduced fatigue is nice but you lose almost all of the rested status you got for using it.

I get that the logic is something like a sugar crash, or maybe it's to prevent players from just not sleeping..
But removing THAT much of the rested status kind of makes these drinks completely useless and a waste of weight to me.

I feel like if it refilled 25% of the meter after the main effects wear off.. or restores 2 or 3 times what a coffee does, that would be totally reasonable

Is there something about this item that I havent considered?

It is meant to be consumed when your fatigue is very low and you want to hurry (blizzard/predator). It helps you recover carrying capacity for a while too if you're below 50% fatigue.

Like an emergy stim but without health recovery.

Coffee is meant to make your day longer.

BTW "Fatigue reduced" buff do not affect fatigue loss when climbing. So it's better to drink the coffee way before or right after a climb.

I don't see any other great reason to use them except for an unplanned rope-climb when you're in a jam. And for that purpose, they come in handy.

I rarely use it, but it has helped me make it to a cabin alive when I was exhausted and close to freezing to death.

I almost always forget I have one and end up using it when I have like 3 rope climbs in a single day. like ash canyon or timberwolf mountain

Energy drinks are great if you have a few of them and a bunch of climbing to do, like if you want to make multiple trips to the top of Timberwolf Mountain, for example. You can wear yourself out, and then drink one to get back up to fast climbing, and repeat, as often as necessary.
