IS IT WORTH IT TODAY?
I played this on xbox gamepass last year and loved it, but I see some negative reviews with the games current state? Is it worth it?

I haven't noticed any of the bugs they are complaining about. The new content doesn't change the basic game very much, except that food and cookware is a little more abundant. Signal Void is a great side adventure, but will only a take a week or two in game time to complete. If you liked the game before, then check out the new Forsaken Airfield region.

Yeah. It worth it. Whinners gonna whine. They wanted everything for free and bugless. Now they have payed DLC and numerous bugs. Doesn't annoy me but seemingly annoys some vocals

ahh, understood. I loved the game before and want to get it since I got a pc. I didnt have the new episode or survival mode then. Have ya'll tried survival? Is it fun?

100% worth it, over 200h on record and keep on coming back for more

month one of losing the motivation to play this game, the only three things i want are: better writing of story mode and dlc, more expansive and more to the setting of world/should be doable in real life-ish mechanics, and being able to add sour cream to tomato soup, its a crime that we cant have that!
after they are done with the dlc i think that they should finish episode 5 and maybe do a remake with the story and dlc so the gameplay and writing are better and more polished.

Depends. It is extremely fun. But it's definetly not for everyone. Because you literally always alone. Wondering from shelter to shelter. And yes there're enemies (wolfs and bears) but you always try to avoid them, never to meet - well with some exceptions. Anyway there's no story in survival, no real goals or quests - just survive. For some it may be boring. For me as well as for many others it's extremely engaging. Because there's a lot of unpredictability in the game. And you can die in a blink of an eye

I’d say it Depends on how much you played before. Buy the game (no need for the dlc until they fix some bugs) set the time capsule to version 2.02 and enjoy many hours of gameplay.

I own the game on gog and I’m putting off a dlc purchase here till spme bugs are squashed and more of thr dlc content is out. If you haven’t seen base game content many times over go for it

In this current state? No, unless you enjoy beta testing for the studio for free. If you are considering PC and you want nearly bug-free gameplay, time capsule to the version just prior to the release of the DLC and then absolutely yes it is worth it, but only the base game. Don't buy the DLC till they have finished the open beta testing (this is sarcasm) and finished patching all of the bugs.

Been playing for 8 months, have a little over 1k hrs. To me it's totally worth it, but I'm one of the lucky ones that haven't experienced any major bugs, and a few minor bugs that affected me have been fixed. I do check the discussion threads to see if there are any new bugs before I hit the play button tho, so there won't be a surprise.

i never understood people who care so much about story. If i want a story il watch a movie and turn my brain off. Games like this are what games are meant to be...engaging,difficult,thought inducing, immersive and full of self discovery.

Overated games like the last of us(great story with characters i loved) are literally "tech demos" or handheld tutorials. i mean theres ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ zero brain usage required in them. My main genre is RTS. But games like this require tactical thought and long term planning/short term planning, that pits you against actual challenges, not the same zombie you pump full of holes every 5 minutes.

MUST BUY

Been playing for longer, but otherwise the same for me. I know some people are experiencing bugs but I've been lucky so far. Worst I've had are disappearing saplings in containers - annoying AF but not game-breaking. Others are not so lucky.

Personally, I still love the game and recommend to the OP to buy it if you have enjoyed the gameplay so far but be aware that you may be one of those who experience bugs, you may not - if that is not an acceptable risk to you, then better to wait. If you don't mind waiting for content to be rolled out over time (and related bugs to be fixed), then I do recommend the DLC as I am enjoying the content so far.

1600+ hours still playing, every game has minor bugs.
Some people can't deal with minor bugs most people can.
Just like life in general.

yeah, I personally enjoyed the story from what I finished up to last year. I was just curious as to how the survival worked. I'll probably get this game again! thanks

2.7k steam hours, plus probably at least half that offline. Not playing more than a few minutes a month for the last ~6 months. The game is currently a hot mess IMO.

ATM, I would wait for the DLC to be completed and debugged at a minimum. There are better things to do with your hours in the meantime...
that's why im hesitant. I heard there are a lot of bugs in it's current state and was wondering it its even playable.
