Moose do not spawn

Even after wandering around the moose's spawning area several times, I can't find a single moose.
I went back and forth between the maps Mystery Lake, Pleasant Valley, Timberwolf Mountain, Broken Railroad, and Mountain Town several times, but couldn't find a single one.
In previous playthroughs, it didn't take long to find it.
I haven't been able to find it for a long time since I started with a new game

The bug is suspicious.
Are there any spawn conditions that I don't know about?

I don't think they are spawning at the same spots as before. Which used to be next to fallen trees, so you could get up on the tree and shoot the moose safely. Now the best strategy is to shoot them from long range, so they never see you and keep running away when hit. I have gotten 3-4 of them in my latest 120 day run, but in unexpected places.

In my experience, moose seem to spawn more frequently in Bleak Inlet. I almost never DON'T see a moose there, although I do play with moose on medium spawn settings. If you have moose set to low, who knows?

I bagged a moose yesterday at the base if rope climb from the Gold Mine in AC. However that was day 16 not day 80. Remember that as the world gets old wild life spawns diminish.

Hard to say exactly how animal spawns work. In my experience a moose that hasn't spawned yet doesn't mean it isn't going to. I'm not sure if they are simply in another part of the region or not. But I've had a moose spawn outside my base after being in a region for quite some time.

The moose does seem to have become somewhat rare. I'm 300 something days into a vanilla Stalker run and have seen 2 moose. One outside the Quonset in CH, one in TW. All other regions have shown markings, but I haven't seen a moose. Except BI. I mean, who chooses to go there ?

In new Interloper (vanilla) I see moose bellow Gold Mine ropes in AC and another near the Dam in ML - this one two times in ~ 40 in game days.

I had played for hundreds of hours before dlcs until I encountered 1 Moose but now I see them more often although still rare. You can choose how much animals spawn in custom games.
