Story not finished?
I first played/tried The Long Dark in 2015-16? I think on XBOne when it was in early access or something, maybe demo? Got it a couple of days ago with the Wintermute expansion and I'm very surprised by the fact that the story isn't even completed? I see it was released in december last year, so, what happened since the first demo/ early access to now? I see that the survival is very in-depth and well done so I guess that's where a lot of the dev time was spent. I also heard of an overhaul that happened recently. Is the game getting updated frequently or is it one of those games that are very slow to update?

so, before finishing the story, they focused on another DLC that is an extra 26$ (CAD)? And that same story started in 2017, so 6 years later, 4 episodes in total, some shorter than other (the 4th one is pretty short compared to episode 3 which took me the longest) and instead of finishing it, they decide to work on an another DLC? I like the game very much, but this is weird behaviour from the devs. And that new dlc does sound sweet for those who prefer the survival side of the game, but had played it "too much"

And the way they're dealing with the monetisation of the game is also kind of "suspicious" with the version that only has the survival being 26$ CAD, The full pack being 40$ CAD while the unfinished Wintermute add on also being 26$ CAD same for the Tales from the far territory. Like I can kind of see why and if we forget some game breaking bugs I've seen, it's very well produced and polished with a lot of depth, so I guess the full price (if you want all content it's 66$ CAD). But I don't know, it's kind of weird how they separated the survival and wintermute.

Well I stuck my character in survival between a tree and a rock and I can't move anymore, very fun..

Apparently they've been working on the game even before, since 2013
I tried the game last week and I like it but my god that really sucks that they don't give a proper end to the story they've had 6 years to end and developped many paid dlcs in beetween.

They're not even that interesting, like, you can cook now(bugged on release) and you get a few variants of weapons that already exist.. for more than the base game's price? What the hell is going on on management to make such ridiculous decisions? If you're gonna make people pay for dlc at least make them enticing and don't sacrifice your base game for them, I'm new to this game, didn't have to wait 7 years for a chapter, and i'm still disappointed

yeah, I had taken a week off to do stuff and relax, got this game on summer sale and got into the story, I wanted to try and finish it before going back to work, only to reach the end of chapter 4, expecting to jump into chapter 5 and bam, main menu, the disappointment.... decided to give the survival sandbox a chance, got stuck in the map collision in a slope between a tree and a rock... u.u

I didn't get as far as you so you probably thought about it before me but try to put a bed down so your character "teleports" to it, maybe it will unlock you

Nah, basically I was walking alongside a slope that I couldn't go up anymore (too steep) came to a rock with a tree right next to it, so I tried to wiggle between the slope and the rock as sometimes in games, your character finds footing on the connection between the rock and the slope as it isn't as steep, so I could go higher, but instead I fell down between the rock, the tree and the slope, and I can't walk up the slope back to where I was, so to my right, there's the rock, behind and to my left is the tree and ahead is the slope I can't walk up and there isn't enough space to put a bed, I tried.
