My thought on the "trader" in interloper
So, as the third part of the DLC drops, the newly added improvised insulation pad allow player to extend their operating time in region like CH, ML and FM. As well as the new beachcombing system allow more item to be collected every few days, making living long term in interloper a much more easy task. However, as there is still no information about the trader as well as two shortwave transmitters in DP & BR that has not yet got any purpose, I like to express a bit of my through or maybe suggestion to the “trader” and maybe some suggestions to the it.

PS: all the throughs below are my own and if you disagree, please leave your comments and maybe we an discuss about it.

CH1: Trader
To begin with, the trader doesn’t has to be a living NPC that stand in a place and talk to you, they should not have the ability or close to have the ability to take you out of this place, they should at least similar to us. “trapped” in this land.
For example, trader in CH, the trader here should from a cargo ship that beached or trapped nearby, you can active the light house in DP to guide their lifeboat to park in CH, and you can trade them with oil (from cars, or fish oil) for metal and other related tools. And every time you need refresh their trading list, you can either wait for a long period time, or you can pay oil in advance to let me go back to refresh.
Thus, other trades in different location (If any), should have different needs and cargo for trading, but this may take too long to implemented and maybe break the survival feeling.

CH2: Guns and Professional tools
Then, as we all know, interloper has no tool and guns spawn, and players will need use custom setting for guns, but as Hinterland themselves mentioned that some players today only play interloper, so I am thinking: is it possible to enable a choice for interlopers to get guns in the late stage.

Before you say I am just a chicken that can’t play the game with the bow, I am currently on a 204/500day interloper game with no mods. (I found the first box of the match at day 30, to say how unlucky I am)

Okay, now talk about guns, I think guns should not be easy to trade at least, they can either make a trade relationship system, the gun will only show up in the final tier, or the gun will only appear parts by parts, making you need to make several trades for a functional gun. or a quest hunt like the single void for you to find special item to the trade for gun trading.
However, regardless the methods, player are the one who making the active decision to trade that weapon, you can still play this the normal interloper without active the trader or just leave the gun at shop and go on with your game as we are the one who made the decision to get it, I am just suggestion that the devs can please give us a bit more choice in term of gameplay. (Or you know, we can always trade for skill books to get that master skill achievement)
(man, the two caches I find had only 1 coal and 1 wire, thank you interloper)

Then, other material like scrape metal and cloth can be basically material for trade that should have a base set of stock, but the professional tools, food like flour and salt should appear randomly, but their prices should be adjust to make them extremely hard to get.

In addition to those, the trade can also play a big role in safehouse customization, as they can sell certain things like shelfs to metal boxes, or even plant pod, as I think certain building with roof open or external rooms (the farm house in PV) that warm enough can to used to grow plants like potato and wheat, so that player don’t just use their water for drinking alone.

CH3: the related item “Travois
Finally, as mentioned above, with various item and stuff a trader can sell, maybe a travois is require to drag items like metal shelfs or boxes back to your safe house or from your safe house to the trader, but there can be more than that, Travois can also be use to carry animal crops or even “human”, I know the coop feature has been beat to death at this point, but I am still waiting for such thing, as I did try the multiplayer mod made by Filigrani, I know it’s possible, and are willing to pay or support for such thing to happen.

Bonus: what have they done to fishing??!!, I made two hole and fish for 3 days, with both fish bait and advance hook, the trap manager to caught 7 fish, instead I only manage to get 2. In 3 day, this is crazy indeed.

Bonus- the bug with fishing is a known bug and listed on the Known Bugs section of the Support Portal. It's being fixed.
Players crash upon attempting to fish, or are unable to catch fish after hours of fishing.

Presentation: Players who are playing on save files created prior to the 2.17 release will find that utilizing any Lures while fishing will result in an immediate crash, or a UI bug and lack of success while fishing.

Workaround: We suggest refraining from using Lures while fishing for the time being. We are aware of this issue and are actively working toward implementing a fix as quickly as possible.
