I spent 32 days in FA on interloper post day 50. I intended to map the entire region, but gave up in the end due to the weather ending up with roughly 65% mapped I'd estimate. Between normal fog, long lasting blizzards, glimmer fog etc it was so rarely clear enough to map for long enough to get much done since it's so huge and with Bear + Wolf coats you don't move that quickly. Was quite relieved to leave in the end and lower Great Bear seems almost tropical by comparison.
Other than it being foggy so much, the biggest thing I dislike about FA is that there are only 2 workbenches in such a huge region. One is right in the corner of the map, and the other is down stairs in the pitch dark. I went though a lot of lamp oil just going down and up from that bench. I definitely think the hangar should have a ground level workbench at the very least!
They got another inside and good location, but you gotta burn a lot of fuel to use.
A third on the other side of the map, outside, seems fair to me.
Glimmer gonna get you everywhere but the basement anyway. Heck, I'd be okay if they simply moved the one from the Airfield basement to the island cabin, and just kept two on the map. That or add/move one to the open hanger - seems like there should be one in there anyway.
Also, good to know I wasn't just really unlucky with the weather. Thanks for the sanity!
I was referring to the mission bunker in my post as the second place. Though, now that I think about it, I haven't tested to see if it's glimmer-fog safe. I just assumed since it's underground.
