Should I restart or continue?

I read in the forum here someone commenting about possible bugs with saves generated shortly after the DLC was released where some of the new items would not spawn correctly in the world. It was said that it's best to do a new run after the DLC patch(s) came out in order to ensure all the new items spawn correctly. Is that true? I have a run that I've been working on since the DLC was released. I haven't found everything yet but I'm a little reluctant to start a new one after all the work I've put into this one while at the same time I certainly don't want to continue it if all the new features aren't there. Aside from combing the world for the new items is there another way to determine if the items are spawned in as they should be? Like will it say a release version or some other clue to let me know things should be fine?

The only things I've heard are:
Guns spawning on Loper in memento caches
and the 3 new rifle variants all spawning together in a trailer (in Coastal Highway i think)

I've never heard of anything being missing so you should be fine, just sounds like sometimes theres a little bonus loot lol

The missing items bug makes the game so unreliable as to be unplayable for me, just like when the bug existed after they released Blackrock. Investing hours of time into a run where my gun or a bedroll goes missing from my inventory, only to die and have to restart just isn't a good use of time, for me. I had hoped that, after so many players complaining for months after Blackrock begging for patches to fix the bugs, HL would split part of the dev team and devote that sub team to just fixing the bugs introduced with the new content and then hotfixing as quickly as possible, instead of rolling everything up into one delayed big release that runs the risk of either not fixing the existing bugs, or worse, introducing even more into the game.

Continue to play if you need feats, otherwise its really just up to if you think the risk is worth it.

I've certainly had my share of bad luck. In my current Custom run, both Barb's rifle and the Curator's rifle didn't spawn. :/ And I'd hate to start a new save, so I guess I'll need to turn to mods and cheat them in, because starting over and over is so demotivating--especially when it's the game's fault and not mine.
