Forging Arrow Question

Does forging an arrow require finding a blueprint somewhere first? I found a forge, have scrap metal and hammer, know how to use the forge, but no option to create an arrow is showing up. Thanks.

forge arrow heads. need cured birch saplings to make arrow shafts(workbench) both of these + feathers to make arrows (workbench)

Do you mean arrowheads?

The temperature on the forge needs to be 150 °C (or 270 °F) before you can craft anything and you need coal to get it this hot.

Also, make sure you are actually clicking on the forge, and not the the furnace directly below. And that you are in the right crafting menu.

Below there are small filter buttons for were you are crafting, are they set to workbench for instance? You should set to forge or all then the recipe will show up. On the left there are also filter buttons but you can't really miss those for the item category.

As said above, for the arrowhead:
Hammer
Metal scrap
Forge at 150°C (requires a few pieces of coal to get that high)
click the forge, not the stove.

If it's not heated enough you should get a warning telling you about the 150°C, if you get the cooking, you're not clicking at the right place, aim lower.

harvest birch sapling (with hatchet or hacksaw) and let them cure inside.

Create arrow shaft at a workbench from a cured birch sapling

Collect feathers around carcass and corpses

Make arrows from 1 arrow shaft, 1 arrowhead, 3 feathers at a workbench

if you're asking about crafting an arrow you need to be at a workbench with
Arrowhead(s)
Shaft (from cured Birch saplings)
Feathers (from crows flying over dead bodies)
Then click on workbench and choose option to craft arrow. You can equip tools to shorten the crafting time . You can not craft in the dark.

Which mode are you playing? The replies are all correct for survival mode, but may not apply to story mode. I cannot recall whether you can craft arrowheads in Wintermute.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I am playing in Wintermute. I have everything I need to make arrows except for the arrowheads. I’m definitely clicking on the forge and not the furnace. I can get the temperature up with coal. I’m able to make an improvised hatchet and knife if I choose to. I just can’t see anywhere enabling me to make the actual arrowhead.

Oh Wintermute. I don't think you can craft arrowheads in the first 3 episodes. The crafting menu in story mode has fewer options than survival.

Thanks. That would explain it. I searched other forums and on YouTube and just couldn’t find the answer to it. I’ll keep on and see if it eventually happens. If not, I’ll try survival mode and see if it becomes available eventually. Thanks again everyone.
