Hopefully they'll post some sort of status update for us Mac users soon... I paid for the DLC on release day, and keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be for nothing/have to get a refund.

Edited to add: There's also the following thread on the official forums, which promises a Mac version Real Soon Now, but, well...

Thanks for the GFN tip though. I might consider it in the future for other games. For TFTFT, I'm gonna wait until it's released.
Apple's largely to blame, they've deprecated almost every graphics API that games use in their relentless pursuit of getting developers to work exclusively with Metal (which is meant for low-end graphics and isn't supported by either Windows, Android, consoles, or Linux). By gaming on a Mac you should be aware of Apple's hostility to anything that isn't strictly their first-party vision, including developer concerns.
OpenGL on Mac OS hasn't been updated since 4.3 (circa 2012); and has been discontinued since 2018. It's rotten to work with.
But don't worry about the system requirements (though mac OS is still there), the Windows requirements listed are what they asked for the earliest unity 4 builds back in 2014-2015, and the game no longer runs on those specs. Not at a playable frame rate, anyway.
Different versions of Unity, I presume. But anything that uses OpenGL is considered a "legacy" application by Apple and is on the chopping block, there's a decent chance that they're gonna remove it once they stop updating the Intel-based Macs (which is a matter of time now).

Macs that couldn't support Metal were left behind on High Sierra, Mojave requires it... and the 2012 MBPs (with NVIDIA Kepler graphics) also got left behind on Catalina, so Apple's been restricting stuff already.
It's all speculation anyway but the only thing I see being an engine-breaking hurdle on Mac is the graphics API choice, or lack thereof. If game needs to be ported to Metal that may take a considerable while to do.
Wow. Are you really unable to see a difference between TFTFT and the "Quiet Apocalypse Bundle", even when it is clearly pointed out to you? Welp. Sure, if you wanna bash Hinterland for no good reason, knock yourself out I guess...
Just to be clear, TLD works just fine on Metal 2 in principle, and has done so for many years. However, there's a nasty bug somewhere that prevents some players from running TLD on Metal, requiring users to manually force TLD to use OpenGL instead. IIRC "MAJOR DEATH" is affected by that bug. It has been around for a long time as well, and Hinterland hasn't been able to squash it yet—possibly because the bug only shows up on some Macs and/or graphics settings; my system, for example, is so far largely unaffected.
Here's hoping that Hinterland/Unity/Apple can now fix both issues (the TFTFT one and the Metal one) at the same time.
I see, that's good news. The last I played this game on a Mac, it still ran exclusively on OpenGL - mine was an Ivy Bridge/Kepler 2012 unibody, the last of the non-retina models. Great laptop, shame time has utterly consumed it
I honestly like the OS, somewhat considering getting a M2 mac mini to get a taste of the modern Mac, such a powerful (and affordable) computer... but that's for another time. Currently upgrading my main PC

And besides TFTFT, the bundle happens to contain various other stuff, as bundles do. Like the game's soundtrack, for example, hence the music icon. As you might know, this is completely normal for a bundle, so there's absolutely nothing shady to see here. The music icon hasn't "replaced" the Apple logo at all; it's an additional icon that Steam adds to bundles that contain music. Once all the bundle's items (including TFTFT) work on the Mac, the Apple logo should appear as a fourth icon in that list.
Now, of course it's possible that you understood this the whole time and were for some reason just trying to cover your originally innocent mistake by spewing a bunch of hate towards Hinterland and BS towards me. I suppose it's also possible that you honestly couldn't tell the difference between the DLC and a bundle that contains it, until just then. Whichever explanation is true, I can't say I particularly care.
What I do care about is TFTFT hopefully soon finally being available on the Mac. And while "countdown to a countdown" was before my time, I must say I'm getting some bad vibes from this tweet here ... but I guess it's good that Mac support is coming at all?? 😬

I bought TLD twice, on PS4 and Mac, but mainly play on a mac and have been checking daily for updates since Dec 5th, to an obsession. I'm also one of many who already bought the expansion in good faith but have nothing to show for it yet. I'm empathetic to HL's difficulties and understand that a lot of this particular issue is out of their control as well. But I also admit that my empathy wears thinner each day and getting frustrated all the more, but the things that ARE in their control, transparency and communication for example, aren't handled well.
Thank you for linking that tweet here, though I must say that I've heard the lines "announcement/release NEXT WEEK" too many times from Raphael, and have learned to take "week" to mean "month" in actuality
The thing is, Hinterland can do better. I fondly recall the Milton Mailbag, which was almost like the other extreme: So much communication that it got too time-consuming for them. Fine, but there's got to be a middle road, right? These past few years, transparency + communication have been really lacking, I must agree with you.
TALES FROM THE FAR TERRITORY is on its way for Mac, and we will have more information to share in the near future. We appreciate your understanding!
