Never found anything down there that I couldn't find somewhere else in the world.
After these at least 15 attempts I no longer think it's worth the risk going down there.
If there are some good clothes down there, I think I'll try to wait. It's day 22 for my character, and I would say it's been a very lucky start (found mag lens and a hack saw on the very first day, and then a hammer the day after). And I've already forged all tools and crafted a bow.
But as it usually happens with the RNG, you can be lucky with, for example, tools, but very unlucky with something else. For me, it's clothes and... gasoline. I didn't even fill all slots yet (no underpants), one of the hats is rubbish, no balaklava, only thin sweaters, jeans, leather shoes. And I checked the plane crash and the main POIs in PV, looted every corner in DP and CH (except these mines).
Lamp oil can be obtained when fishing, but I don't usually fish at the early stages. So a can of gas would be very helpful. Found 2 lanterns (barely filled) but no fuel at all.
It didn't take too long, the aurora came the 3rd night and I managed to get down there (and then get out!)
Can confirm, it was worth waiting. I got:
- Fisherman sweater
- Couldn't find a balaklava but got ear wraps instead
- Energy drink, peanut butter
- Jerry can (finally!)
- A can of gun powder
- 5 rifle ammo - that's not you would expect on Interloper!
Now I'm planning to move to TWM, check all plane containers. Hopefully, there is a pair of underpants somewhere.
If you want the undies, just go straight to HRV for the guaranteed spawn. TWM containers have decent clothing loot like ski jacket, wool socks, ear wrap, etc. but I don't think the undies can spawn there.
This is the way. It's ridiculous how vanilla Interloper has gotten so much easier with all the invisible contraband items, but Interloper purists can simply just ignore those loot and still get the intended experience.
Self-imposed rules are also a good way to spice things up. Like I've been doing a pacifist + no crafted clothing run on NOGOA and oh boy, it's been a blast.
