Yes.
It will bleed out with a single bullet (but slower than with rifle or bow).
Be sure to be in a safe place because I don't think you can one shot it

Sure,I once shot a bear in the head from the bridge of the Riken with revolver. ( I know that's not fair and square. ) But it didnt die immediately ,that is.

Arrows, revolver bullets, and rifle bullets all have a chance to score a critical hit and kill the bear on the spot (the way the animal model in the game works). The chance of that can vary with the weapon used and location hit and skill.

But it only takes one bleed to kill a bear if it didn't die outright so one revolver shot can do it.

Having skill at V helps to since you do more damage.

killed a CH with 1 shot to the head as he approached the house I was leaving. He didn't die immediately though.
