How do I get start the DLC?

The main menu get 3 option:
Survival <-nothing new in challange
Wintermute <- nope, just wintermute
Quit

if you got the DLC you should be able to find your way into the new regions from desolate railroad or whatever the regions called again (one left of forlorn muskeg). you cannot spawn in the new region, gotta find it first

Survival.
It will launch the game in Survival Mode, with the new free and/or DLC content. The DLC is not a seperate choice on the new menu. It is part of Survival mode. Old saves are not compatible, this was told to us multiple times since the October Dev Diary. Your old saves can only be played using the Time Capsule, and they will not include any of the new content. For the new content, you need to start a new run.

Wait, so it's just new region and gameplay? I though it's DLC with new plot. :/

No there is supposed to be a bit of a story and more then just one region (which is the current one and connecting regions are massive btw), they are updating it over the next year or so, adding a new update every 8-10 weeks, so i think they are yet to add the new animals (i cant seem to find any at least) and numerous other things we haven't been told about yet

The Tales part of the DLC are built into Survival Mode. They aren't new Challenge Modes. They are baked into Survival Mode, to bring some of the backstory and lore of Story mode into Survival mode, without a linear narrative driven game. Play Survival mode as usual, you aren't set on a linear path to discover the new lore content.

I don't think the Cougar is in the game yet, but I haven't gone into the Ravine to see if it's no longer "safe" to vacation there.

Alright, misunderstood the article from the dev who talks about "3 tales".
Not a fan of survival mode, kinda pity tho.
