Trunk Release
I understand that the Prybar needs more purpose than to just open up lockers, but all cars come with trunk release switches. Just a minor nitpick of mine when I'm journeying.

Anybody agree? I can't be the first to have thought of this.

Maybe it's jammed. If that's so, should probably change the text from (locked) to (jammed).

That's a good point. I'd just like to see the incorporation of that option. This is the only playthrough where I haven't found a prybar.

Well if the cars were BMW this would make sense, but all I've seen are broken down towncars and pick-ups that look pretty old. Older models like that wouldn't require a battery to use the trunk release. At least my '98 doesn't.

Aren't trunk release switches usually mechanical?

Good point about the release switch, but let me counter that. The car doors should be frozen after being abandoned for (what seems like) weeks :)

Devs have to release a game! they seem stuck on updating old code and it seems like an actual story mode might not surface.

You've got no reason to believe that, they've steadily updated the game and listen to player feedback. Be patient, I'd rather have a great story mode a year from now than a crap one now.

I disagree- I would wait (happily) another year to get story mode because I know when they release it, it will be a solid game. I would rather wait than get a rushed and buggy POS excuse for a game. Hinterland is incredibly responsive to the players and are doing an amazing job with the updates and subsequent fixes. Patience is a virtue-learn it.

Well, it depends on the car- some cars trunk release will not work if the battery is dead, so it does (possibly) make perfect sense. Maybe they are also frozen shut (so the release cant work and hence it needs pryed open) Great thinking though !
Do we have the best community or what?!

You can also break ice for fishing with...and is a source of scrap metal.

There was a time when trunks had no releases. They can also breakdown. Releases may be unreliable in extreme cold weather so cars sold in those areas may not have them.

Yeah, that is a great counter point. In which case the prybar makes total sense.

I was thinking this exact thing.

Yep, some trunk releases require electricity and some cars don't have them, you have to use your key.
