Dysentery waaay too lethal
So you get sick with dysentery, drinking bad water. BUT you can't rest it off, you have to get anti-bacteria medicine/tea or essentially die. How is this realistic??? People get dysentery/diaherra all the time and don't bother to treat it. Try eatting at olive garden once in a while. None of these people die unless they are wicked old! Please tweak the lethal or make a bunch of rest capable of curing, like real life. Thanks!

So you want a RNG there ?
% of dysentry after drink bad water...
then after 6 hours (seriously why 1 day ?)
a dice is rolled to see if you get dysentry or not...

You can avoid dysentry and reduce the % drinking herbal medicine (reishi tea ?)

after that just antibiotics treatment is allowed...

Do you like this idea ?

The way I've seen people abusing Captain Sandbox with intentional starvation (for efficiency), frankly I think lethal dysentery is a form of just desserts! Plus it's a nice throwback to Oregon Trail, don't you think? "You have died of dysentery" lol

Just because it is not RL is not a justification to change a game mechanic.

Boiling a liter of water costs less than two sticks for fuel.

Dysentery isa common disease in third world countries and it will kill your ass. Boil or purify water.

Dysentery is not just Olive Garden-variety diarrhoea. IRL it's doubtful you'd have the resources for (or feel up to the task of) keeping enough water on the boil to recover without medicine.

Getting it after some time and not the moment you swallow would actually make much more sense. The only reason why people have to wonder what gave them an upset stomach, diarrhea or cramps is because those things take time to develop.
Just cut out those gamey risk percentages (IMO the all-knowing player is one of the absurdest ideas of game development ever) and we'd be back on the road to a "survival sim".

Jaja yeah i know, i was trying to being sarcastic, but at the same time suggesting a rework on that... more logic is always better

I've never had dysentry in the entire time I've played, which is just under 100 hours. This tells me if I do get it then it shouldn't be easy as hell to get rid of.

Never had dysentry in the game, but i always take the time to boil a little extra water to stuff in a container for later use if necessary.

I have never ever had to drink bad water in this game. I almost wonder why it's even a seperate command to boil it...Why would anyone melt water and not make it safe before drinking it?

^ this
though, you will need about 6 sticks - 1lt water is 20mins for melting + 10mins for boiling

Well, maybe you run out of fuel.

Sticks respawn you'll never run out of fuel and also you can go sometime without water certainly long enough to find fuel.

I've never ran out of it actually, that's kinda hard especially when hangin around your safe base.

But i suppose it might happen in longer migrations if injuried and caught in a blizzard and forced to pass the night into a cave, where you'll also need fuel to survive the cold.

Imprudent moves required though.

Dysentery kill. Remember a little item I learned in ages ago. During the American Civil War, more soldiers died from dysentery than on the battlefield. Suspect that is true in any pre-modern conflict.

Dysentery cannot live in or form in FROZEN snow
Has any one lived up north. I lived next to Canada for 25 years. No one gets sick eatting snow, (don't eat yellow or brown snow in the wilderness). Why are we getting dysentery from melting snow over a fire? Why can't we eat snow to fill thirst and sacerfice a little warmth?
