Wolf carcasses outside despawn in about 3-4 days and respawn around the same time, as ExCoRpIoN noted.
No new bear has returned. I even got to wondering about it and went down to the river to look and see if he just had learned a lesson from his predecessor and was staying closer to the cave.
No sign of one.
I think I like the new, more random wildlife spawns. It is now easier at times to visit places that used to always be a nightmare of snarling wolves, and you can no longer be certain that your old 'safe lanes' of travel are always going to be safe anymore.
