How long do Wolf's/deer stay dead before they respwan?

I fought off two wolf attacks near the railway bridge and then tried to follow their blood trail but a blizzard began to blow so I sought shelter for the night in the hydro dam, got a lucky shot on fluffy as he charged me.
I recuperated for the night and began to search for the bodies of the wolf's which I failed to do.
It's been several days (in game) since the incident and I will make my way to the damn again to collect fluffys hide which should have cured by now.
Will I find the said wolf's respwaned or their frozen carcasses?

Fluffy (the wolf that lives in the dam) doesn't respawn. Once it's down, it despawns a *lot* faster than wolves killed outside, presumably because of the temperature in the dam. I've had it despawn in under 8 hours.

Wolf carcasses outside despawn in about 3-4 days and respawn around the same time, as ExCoRpIoN noted.

not entirely true, i have noted that they despawn according to what you leave behind on the carcuss. i personally always leave 1 guts on a wolf and bear, this will take the body 3-5 days to despawn,then this seems to respawn the wolves at day 5 and the bears on day 8 after the body despawns. if you strip the carcuss clean, it despawns very quickly, the wolves return in 3 days and the bears in 5.

Which is way too quick to respawn... should takr longer to respawn, and should respawn at a random set location inatead of the same all the time.

I am not sure about the respawn times any more....especially the bears. I killed the bear in PV that usually lives down by the river North of the Farm House....the one that occassionally will wander up right to the house. I killed him a very long time ago now, several weeks of game time.

No new bear has returned. I even got to wondering about it and went down to the river to look and see if he just had learned a lesson from his predecessor and was staying closer to the cave.

No sign of one.

I think I like the new, more random wildlife spawns. It is now easier at times to visit places that used to always be a nightmare of snarling wolves, and you can no longer be certain that your old 'safe lanes' of travel are always going to be safe anymore.
