And.. idk why...
My prefer game about zombies (without survival mode) is L4D
The i found a game called 7 Days to Die... and thats like a Minecraft
Then we have H1Z1 but idk how it works (shooters and zombies ?)
and DayZ... shooter MMO with zombies...
I just search on steam and there are some games that looks great
like Miscreated...
Thats the point, im not looking for a shooter. Or do you call The Long Dark a Wolf shooter?
Sure if you get things like Zombies, there will always be more shooting and fighting than here.
Just looking for something where this is not the only thing you do most of the time.
But it is still an alpha. Prepare for a wipe from time to time.
Not really zombies but still:

But multiplayer and all the problems that brings. Haven't tried it, but in games like this can you just set up your own server, make it private/passworded then effectively play single player ?
(edit. only played one game where I used the multiplayer option, but that one had a single player option too. In that one you could set up a private server with a password but as it had a single player option, didn't need to as you end up with the same thing. That one also had "friendly" servers and "hostile" servers, friendly meant other players couldn't harm you, hostile meant you had mobs of angry teenagers intent on ruining your day as well as the other things in the game. So wondering if things like miscreated has friendly servers too if anyone has played it)
In some way... yeah... but its different... wolves have others behaviors than just rush if they listen to you... also, when they hunt you, they walk different, and attack different... so that a very important point...
Yeah but now its pretty good... when i tried it ... 50% of the map wasnt there
and they added a lot of stuff too...
I already own The forest, but this is more focused on Basebuilding and there is not much more to do atm.
(I'm kinda kidding, but give it a shot :P)
lol, it looks awesome ;)
Its not much like TLD, but played a lot of Savage Lands before, which has single player and friendly servers too (as in other players ability to hurt each other is disabled in the friendly servers, so its cooperative not PvP), plus you can host your own server for just you and friends too if you want. Wolves and bears in that one too, but they look a lot meaner ! Oh, and a lot of skeletons running around trying to kill you too....and a dragon ! Got to love a game with a dragon.
The game had a massive update a few months ago and for some reason my pc won't even load it now, but suspect thats my pc and I need to delete and reinstall, but they expanded the game quite a bit so suspect its even better than before.
(Also, Max Brooks's version of zombies would freeze in the cold of TLD, so . . .)
The absolute BEST thing about it is how you can alter almost every single setting.
You can tailor the game exactly how you want it to be, like the amount of loot, number of zombies, behaviour of zombies, damage settings, day/night settings and a ton of other details.
Make it as easy or as hard as you want. Play it singleplayer or multiplayer. PvE or PvP.
Hinterland could easily learn a thing or two from these guys about player options and freedom ;)
This isn't about the devs, but I do notice the different characters of the dev teams, and it does make a difference. eg the Savage Lands devs characteristically ask 'what do you want ?', using trello boards etc, then seem to develop quite closely to the feedback received (along with their own ideas mixed in). Hinterland does seem a bit more 'here's the experience we want you to have'. Nothing wrong with that, Just observing a difference.
Hinterland has done a great job so far, but I do agree, sticking a stake in the ground on things like creative options (sliders) will lose some players in the long run.
(oh, this is angkag, not hiding, just my pc is down so using the kids and can't be bothered to log into my own steam account)
