Parasites for voyager
I have to say, I would like to have the parasites back in voyager.

Let me explain:

I don't play stalker. I don't play it because it does not feel "right" for me, it just feels like a calculating kind of DayZ with wolves for me, not that realistic. Voyager feels right for me, I feel like I really have a "survival simulation". You may laugh, but it's about the immersion. Just for me. I like watching the stalkers, but I for myself just don't like to play it.

When parasites came out first I thought "Neh!". But as is went on playing it changed (of course) my game style. Hunting and eating became more important, there was more to think about it, than going out (if I ran out of food), dropping a decoy and bang (or whooosh). Now I had to think about each wolfie I killed. To be honest, my character lived healthier then ;) It was a new challenge.

And a second thing that changed was my hunting on bears. You may laugh, but there came a kind of ethic thinking then - I stopped killing bears. No need for that bedroll anymore. If I now meet a bear I watch it for some time and enjoy that great big killer teddy, then wave goodbye and walk on. That feels better than thinking: "Okay, how will I get this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ done!" (which ALWAYS was my first thaught).

Some of you understand me? What do you think?

For parasites, we need a new cooking system first...
thats cause they are not implemented in the right way (Voyageur and Stalker only), thats cause the quit it from voyageur...

You cant get parasites if youre doing a good cook
if youre eating raw meat, or somethin like that, the risk is high...

Right, if you learn cooking better it should lower the risk. But the risk (curve) I wish back in voyager.

I agree. There should be parasites in Voyager too. Maybe not the same (harsh) mechanic as in Stalker, but less punishing.

Simple solution would be giving less chance to contract parasites in Voayger than in Stalker difficulty.

I'm still playing that Nomad challenge and Parasites are one of the things I miss the most... wierd I know xD

Voyageur no longer has risk from parasites in cooked food?

From my point of view it could be the exact same mechanism. The parasites were the changing I hated most (I play since feb 2015) - and turned around completely.

Aww, seriously? I was looking forward to having a reason for level 5 cooking.

Parasites definitely make the game more challenging by introducing food scarcity built around risks to the use of available Wolf and Bear meat, which is more in line with the play style preferred by our Stalker players.

May be. What happened to my playstyle was, I still was eating wolfie burgers, but not that often anymore. My character got so healthy, you would not believe... And the bears.. I wrote about it, now I really LOVE them. Lol.

Exactly. A binary high % parasite risk vs. no parasite risk doesn't really seem all that engaging to me. Like you suggested, and like I've written in a few places in the recent past, a more nuanced parasites system paired with improved cooking would be much more interesting. Nor does difficulty have to suffer; parasites could be added to all meat instead of just predators' if the notion of needing to invest extra resources to eliminate or otherwise modify the risk were introduced.

Agreed.
