Spawnpoints for arrowheads?
Hey!

Am currently at the trappers Lodge at Mystery Lake. Intended to live there but so far I only found one broken arrow which I could harvet arrowheads from. Dont really wanna walk all the way to the forge at DP to make my own.
I´ve found this one under the bridge near the dam, otherwise I´ve been over the entire map without finding anymore.
If I shoot a deer, I´ll bet he´s just gonna take off with my only arrow so haven´t dared to try yet.

What other good spawnpoints are there that is closer then Desolation Point? I know about the practicerange at the Red Barn by the outer Farmstead in PV but other then that?

Saplings and feathers are no problems, it´s just the arrowheads.

Thanks!

Don't know about too many in Mystery Lake. I know the Quonset Gas Station in CH sometimes has one in the tool chests. Honestly that's the only place I can recall that has one, and I know it's a bit of a walk. Sorry I couldn't offer more.

NP, even if it´s a walk, it´s still only half the way compared to the forge, considering my intention is to go back to Trappers lodge again afterwards...

Any more suggestions is gladely taken, also in other regions.

There are inside the dam, stuck in the door going in the lower dam, possibly close to corpses. PV barn and in the quonset.

"stuck in the door going in the lower dam".

The door that recently came with a patch, giving access to the new lower parts of the dam? From the big hall that is?

I don't know about recent; the lower part of the dam has been around quite a while. Anyway, there are TWO broken arrows there. Go through the door. There is a dead guy right there. There is one arrow on the floor in front of him, and another stuck in the door. Both are broken, but you can harvest them for the arrowheads.

Cool, thanks. Gonna check that place out (again), might have missed them earlier.

Guess I´m up for a fight with fluffy then, lol.

the hunters blind in mystery lake has 1 or 2...in the blind or on the ground by the steps...

Also in ML, there are sometimes a bow and/or arrow to be found at the two hunting blinds.

In ML, there are (from what I've found), close to four arrows; two in the lower dam, one near a deer's carcass in Clearcut, one in the hunter's blind at the unnamed pond. There's one in the ravine, halfway across the entire map, you'll find a cave with an arrow next to a dead body. The mountaineer's Hut at TWM has a couple too, along with the barn at PV having maybe three or four? There's another at PV near a dead body at the hunter's blind, from what I found. Honestly, I have about 13 arrowheads, which is really useless, because the bow is meant to be a silent hunting weapon, and using it in self defense makes no sense. To that end, having more than three or four arrows is quite redundant.

As for worrying about killing a deer with an arrow, try to make your shot count. Try to sneak upto the deer, preferably from behind, (not too close, or it'll run away, and you'll have to sneak more) get up, and shoot it on the head. It's instant death. If not, chase it for a while, or rest, let it bleed, and then retrieve your arrow, and harvest. Always retrieve your arrow before harvesting. You won't need extra arrows if you're careful with the ones you have.

Have you tried finding a weapon cache yet? Found 4 arrows and some shafts in a bunker, but it was in PV.

If you want to see where exactly weapon cache (possible) spawn location is on ML map check out some of the user made maps on the guide section.

Thanks for your suggestions, the hunters blinds so far has given me nothing so far but I didn´t check carefully by the steps, only inside the blinds.

The preppers cache given to me on ML was a foodcache, which was good because I was about to die in lack of food (and lack of finding a rifle, this trip have been my hardest yet and I´ve done a lot of them). I´ll might give PL and try, both for caches and to check those blinds mentioned, but then I´m probably gonna go back to my trapper lodge at ML.

To tell you all the truth though, I kind of suck at the bow and arrow, which is why I want plenty of arrows to practise with ;)

The dead deer at the start of the sandbox can infrequently spawn an arrow (at the start) and may do so after the sandbox is in play. Aside from those that occasionally spawn, generally once, at the hunter's blinds (like the survival bow that occasionally spawns there). The arrows at the dam are, as far as I can tell, sure spawns.

Those dead deer, if you touch them at all, even just to look at their innards, they will then disappear in time in which case there will be NO chance for a random arrow spawn. So if you don't have to, don't touch them. It may pay to make a sweep of those deer corpse locations from time to time. I have come away from Mystery Lake with up to 5 arrows, counting the sure finds.

Using a bow and arrow is hard. It does get better over time with practice. I have gone to DP, now have 14 or 15 arrows and 40 more arrowheads (and a pile of shafts and feathers) but I still, almost always, take only one shot as if I only had one. I am still rather surprised when I loose an arrow and the deer or wolf drops in its tracks.

Heh, I think I have reused the same arrowhead a number of times. At this pace, I may eventually run out of maple for bows and birch for arrow shafts before I run out of arrowheads.

By all means, when one has the chance, go to DP to forge more arrowheads. Knowing one can afford to lose an arrow will be a real comfort.

I have also found arrowheads inside the grate in the prepper's caches in Mystery Lake - doesn't matter which one you got. Be sure you check there too.

look by the target, by the barn in PV, always at least 1 useable arrow there and a couple broken ones

Asside from the dam occaissionally you'll find them at Un-named Pond, Hunter's Blind by Alan's Cave, and if the Hunting Pepper Cache has spawned you'll find then there as well.
