I wanted to know what things respawn in game? I know loot does not, but what about sticks and branches and other, animal corpses......and whatever else?

Sticks, branches, coal, birch bark, small cedar and fir limbs (the ones that give 3 wood- the large limbs do not respawn). wildlife/fish (though respawn rate and lessening of respawn numbers over time depends on what experience mode you are playing). Animal carcasses do not respawn after you harvest them- the ones that are pre-placed by the game are a one-time harvest only. You may find new carcasses following a wolf kill- if they are new, there will be a wolf guarding it and eating it. If they are completely eaten and the wold or timberwolf /timberwolves has/have left the area, you may see the carcass, but it will be labeled as "Ravaged" and trying to harvest it will result in a "Nothing to harvest" message.

Other items will (re)spawn in certain locations along coastal areas (beachcombing mechanic), at the water/weak ice's edge- these are currently set locations, and you must try to run out and grab the items without falling through the weak ice. If you leave all items sitting there, nothing new will spawn there, but if you manage to grab items and loot them, new items will spawn there after a period of time (I don;t use the beachcombing mechanic that often- so I am not sure exactly how many days it takes for new items to spawn, and if there is a difference in time depending on experience mode played- a few in-game days-an in-game week?). Items are random- RNG is at play- so you can never guarantee what you may find in a beachcombing location. And again- it is only on coastal locations- thee is no beachcombing on lakes or ponds- only at the edge of the sea.

Lol- you are welcome. And yeah- it's a lot to try to remember. Keep playing- it will all become second nature as time goes on- and keep in mind some of the info may change when the DLC/free content update drops in December.

Large limbs do respawn - at least on Pilgrim and Voyageur. It takes about 5-7 days.

I would estimate beach combing locations respawn items in about 7-10 days.

Beach combing can produce some otherwise rare items. In BI I picked up a container of Painkillers at a time in the game where all my other painkillers had deteriorated to ruined. After putting the newly found 86% condition painkillers into inventory I picked up all the ruined painkillers. Thanks to a game exploit all painkillers picked up in ruined converted to 86% condition. This works with ruined flare shells as well but they have to get down to ruined condition before this will happen.

Birch bark respawns but not rose hips or reishi mushroooms.

If that large limb across from Camp Office by the rock (where the dead body sometimes is) respawns after you chop it up- you have a very different game than I do. The limbs that give 3 wood (small limbs) respawn- the limbs that give 5 wood (large limbs) do not.
