Do mods interfere with achievements/feats?

Wanted to get some QOL mods that allow more item placement and add binoculars. Would these bar me from getting achievements and unlocking feats?

is there anything that allows you to build a hut? Or something like the porch of the house at Pleasant Valley would be even sweeter. So you can be semi-outside but untouched by the elements.

You can still get achievements in a Custom Settings game, but not Feats. I would imagine third party mods work the same way, though there used to be a mod that allowed for Feats progression while using the mod. I am not sure if that mod still works or if it has been updated for the current version of the game. I'm not currently using any mods, and I have all achievements and Feats, so I can't even install one to test this. :/

Everything will be fine, except maybe saves which may fail on the next update, so make backup of precious ones before installing mods.

mod Fox Companion interfere with Faithful Cartographer achivement . you will never receive if you have fox mod enabled.

They've changed things and loosened up a bit on talk about mods- though we are still not supposed to post links to them. But they did create a subforums on the online forums where all things mods and modding are able to be discussed- because Hinterland makes all the rules there and doesn't have to deal with Valve's Discussion Rules & Guidelines.

Hmm interesting. Are there official mod tools? Or is it just done is something like Harmony or dnSpy and such? Well...i can research that.

No official mod tools yet- something they are still working on, apparently. I wouldn't expect official mod tools until Episode 5 is out, and until they've decided on what they are going to add with the DLCs when they come. And until they get Story Mode and Survival mode untangled and separated. I would imagine any official modding tools they give us are only going to work in Survival Mode, and they won;t want to duplicate anything that can be done with their modding tools. Plus, I wonder if they are trying to create tools for consoles- possible but much more difficult.

That is NOT true. The fox mod doesn't interfere with anything gameplay related. It pretty much can't, because of the way its programmed.

Mods don't disable feats, mods don't disable achievments. There is a mod that ENABLES feat progression in custom mode games.

Yeah, the rabbit hunting is a bit cheaty. You need some self discipline to not abuse it. eg. there is a setting for "chance to catch". If you set it to let's say 15% and if the fox wasn't successful, you just walk away ...
Oooor set it to 100% and clean out the map.

I've tried offsetting the gain of rabbits by adding a hunger system for the fox. So it wouldn't obey commands if its too hungry and not fed. That ... didn't work out. The mechanic was way too annoying during gameplay, so its gone now.

The mod is not really meant for serious gameplay. People notice that when they try to run away from a wolf/bear and the fox blocks the escape route by accident. Its more meant for people like me, that fire up a somewhat easy custom game and just spend their time decorating and "living" in their little shelter or just hang around a crackling fire while staring at a blizzard. Chill-mode so to speak :D

i tell you what happent. i had Fox mod installed and its works fine/ fox hunt rabbits eats meat etc. i was in Milton area and tried to map Log Sort /it was a LAST point i need to map to finish and get achivement/ here two log sorts in milton or three./ i mapped them about 3 times with my friend little fox . and no achivement was popped up, i decided to remove mod for a check/ reloaded game loaded save, mapped log sort near church and Achievement was immideately popped up/ so i m sure fox mod was interfere with it.

no matter anyone can do the same get fox mod and try map all locations
btw i did F Cartographer before Black Rock region was released.
