Food Quality Percentage?
I've noticed some meats that have a 56% quality provide as many calories as a piece of meat that is 96%. What does the difference affect?

% means how much more the RNG will be on your bad side for food poisoning.

Which means, even at 99% it is bound to give you food poisining ten times in a row.

Back before I started playing interloper and actually saw food I got into the habit of never eating cooked meat that was below 70%. I ended up with food poisoning too often. Canned good are another thing. I my usual cut off was 20 to 25%. Not a big deal if you have antibiotics or reishi tea. Intestional parasites is another matter entirely. Get your cooking skill up to 5 then there are now worries currently (I assume the last updated didn't change this). With cooking level 5 I have consumed meat and canned goods at 1% condition with no ill effects.

With level 5 cooking only meat below 30% Will food posion you I think As for canned food and candy bars etc, I think Its 40% and under But havn't really tested, Deer meat gives food posioning less offen although I've only gotten it once from deer meet and like 3 from wolf I eat bear all the time it never food posions me

general rule not to get food posion, avoid almost everything around 30% except can/sealed goods. Find a candy bar at 26% condition? dont eat it, not worth the risk.There is almost always a risk but if you do it right, it be like 1-2% and its not too hard to deal with food posion once you live past the first week. As a tip playing interloper, only eat at the start(not often) or end of the day in a safe place so you can deal with it if it does happen.

Did they change this in the recent patch? Because before, eating even a 80% deer meat, I got food poisoning on. Then the next day, same thing. So I tossed the entire batch of meat out the door.

I would think after suffering from it the day before, you would already have antibodies to fight it the next day ... oh wait, thinking too logically ;)

@friged

Allot of the mechanics were adjusted and (from what I've seen) expanded

As a rule I play by: don't look at the % look at the "descriptor" if it's stale? Then ok it's probably alright. If it's moldy? Why would you want to eat it? (But you might have to) If it's rancid? You better get ready for some toilet time

Same is true for cans (new dented banged up rusty) the % never means much to me anymore
