Save game edit
Hi,

So i picked TLD again, nice updates. Still boring once you are settled and i am still to experience regular endgame where you are scraping for each day. Either got killed before or killed character.

Now problem i have is that i picked woman character and she is constantly complaining. And i mean constantly. anything goes to 99% she starts to panic. So i want to edit save game to male character, hope to find more fortitude there. And bright ideas how to do this ?

I turned the voice off for the female character because I couldn't stand the whining and complaining, it grated on my teeth and drove me mental, so badly that I was shouting back at her whenever she complained. My hubby says he wish he could do the same to me in rl (go figure) Turning it off in options was all I could think of. I found that it is no detriment to the game as it is still perfectly playable without the grumbles. :steamhappy:

How do you even save a game? I just started playing and I love the game.

I barely even hear the player characters anymore. I've played as both characters for 500 hours, I guess I've just tuned them out at this point. I can't imagine turning off the voice, or switching characters. Interesting stuff.

the game saves when you enter an area or sleep/nap. (to save just nap for an hour or enter a house)

Voice is now muted and is working perfect. Dont miss a single comment and have more immensed experience.

Before it was really just apocalypse now anytime she went to 99% condition, telling me she is about to die. No you are not. Solved.

Either you're exaggerating or something is wrong with that save game! The character really shouldn't start complaining about their condition unless one of their stats is getting low (fatigue, hunger, thirst, cold)...

Your overall condition may be at 99% but what exactly is it that she was complaining about? Might be worth checking to make sure that she doesn't need a drink or something.

I find the voice quite useful, especially on a long journey it can be easy to neglect having a drink of water or keeping an eye on the warmth-meter, with the voices on they will politely remind you in case you didn't notice something.

It was more or less OMG i am going to die comment anytime anything was not OK (hunger, thirst, warmth, tiredness, afflictions, etc) and condition dropped to 99%.

Now i liked TLD from beginning and it was not like this before. And optimal strategy here is not to keep everything all the time at 100% given the how long can you survive premise so it only makes sense to shut the nagging off since i rarely want to be at 100%.

The voice comments are meant to be little cues and reminders in case you aren't paying attention, but some of them do seem a tad overly-dramatic for what they are saying, and honestly the guy character seems even more dramatic, imo. :P Especially since, considering they're essentially talking to themselves!
So, yes, after you've gotten the hang of it, it's probably a little bit pointless unless you like the voices. New players might find it handy until they get used to what to pay attention to. So what I do is just turn off the voice or turn it down super low and I have the captions on so I can still see what she's saying JUST in case it's something imoprtant or something I somehow overlooked. The bright yellow text it uses is pretty hard to miss, so I like it.

This is something i always disliked aboutTLD. One the one hand the premise of the game is how long can you survive, but then all alarms go off when character hits 99% condition. This is also popular misconception among newbies, really, why would i want to be at 100% at any time unless i am going out among wildlife is beyond me. And than this crusade against "hibernation" forcing players to pass time . There was a holy war here a year ago from people who thought that survival is about getting obese fat ♥♥♥♥ against people that were posting years of survival time when most people struggled to survive 10 days.

Will try captions, also good idea but really i dont see what could i miss as all the key parameters have simbols and condition is there.

I would reccomend reinstalling your game if your character starts complaining at 99% condition, something is not right there.

I find typically my character will only complain he is close to death when he drops below ~30%
