Pacifist Achievement
Hey guys, starting a new play through and going for the pacifist badge this time. I was wondering, does it count against you if you spook a deer into a wolf, then scare the wolf off the kill to harvest the deer? What about deer carcasses you find lying around? Are those ok?

Thanks in advance.

You can scare the deer into the wolves and you can eat the carcasses you find. The only things you can't do are shoot the wildlife, trap the rabbits, or fish and keep the fish. Apparently you can catch and release fish, but you can't keep them.

You can also, evidently, fight back if you are attacked by a wolf (this obviously matters little in Pilgrim), even if they die during the attack.

Remember, Pacifist means you don't attack things, not that you can't fight back if you are attacked.

Wonderful, I was worried about wolf attacks. My longest stretch so far has been 58 days, and generally my survival strategey involves punching wolves until they die and eating them. Thank you for the quick responses guys.

I got this achievement without thinking about it, while I was playing the Nomad Challenge. Go from a place to another, only eat the food you find in cans and you'll be fine.

Although stuff like this makes it hard to be a Pacifist.

That is five (5) frickin' deers just hanging out on the edge of the lake in ML, just taunting me with their delicious deer burgers.

Honestly, go to the top of TWM and eat MRE's for 25+days.
Since you'll need 25 days to be ready for it, you'll get the achievement easily

couldn't achive.. why? I didn't kill anything for 26 days, what's wrong here? No fishing, no shooting, no traps for rabbits. Collected carcases of deers, rabbits (I found a rabbit that was killed by a wolf), wolves after their attack. Did I miss anything?

It may take to day 27....it did for me.

waited till day 28, nothing. I assume I shouldn't collect rabbit's carcass. I didn't kill it, but it maybe was a reason

Oh yeah, you can't trap....that's killing by choice.

I didn't trap it, it was killed by a wolf, I've collected its carcass. Is killing by choice recognized when you step forward to a wolf, it attacks and you hit it with a knife or it's a self-defence?
Eugene Jan 9, 2017 @ 9:46am
It's considered self defense and does not void the challenge

thanks, it seems collecting a dead rabbit voided my challenge. I didn't place a trap, it was killed by a wolf, however the game considered collecting a carcass as an act of agresstion from my side

If you merely collected a wolf mauled carcass that shouldn't count. You didn't do any fishing did you?

no fishing, only read books how to do that.. =) this is very strange then, I have no idea why this achievement didn't work out. I've killed many wolves, as anyone did to survive. However in the River Dam there was a wolf inside a building, it attacked me twice. I was in a dark corridor, it ttacked me around the corner, then it tried to flee after the first attack, but the corridor was short, it returned and attacked once again, so I killed him in action (usually I wait until it dies) - is a killing in action an act of agression from my side?

I've read a few of these posts and while people have confirmed if a wolf bleeds out after a conflict it doesn't count, it seems to be a bit of a gray area if the wolf dies in the struggle. Wish we could get some dev clarification on one of these threads!
