But if you aren't playing interloper, then you probably can't make use of all that extra warmth anyway.
You can't rely on coats to keep you safe from wolf attacks. They don't run off that often.
So you're sleeping in it outside, and without fire? Is this working out well?
My two cents: I sleep in the back of caves, on interloper, no fire, for weeks on end, through blizzards, in a cloth bedroll and it's plenty warm.
I make a fires but I don't always have enough wood to keep them going all night or wind blows them out...\i am sure everyone can relate to this. The bear bedroll will keep you warm in most instances when this happens and you don't awaken with a hypothermia warning in the middle of the night.
...in your two bearskin coats... :)
also for the record, since Defense and windproof value do not function on the inner layer, i use 1x bearskin and 1x wolfskin with the wolf on the interior layer for the reduced weight.
