I'd say no. You'll lose whatever gains in warmth by being heavier and losing your energy faster. Thin wool sweater or a wool shirt seem to be better choices. 2 x Fisherman is still what I look for in the game all the time.
I disagree.
Cowichan Sweater + Fisherman Sweater is a great early game pickup. Cowichan is kinda like the equivalent of Gauntlets / Mukluks for the torso slot. Very rare to find. I would repair both to 100% and you will be very warm.
I do agree with you that 2x Fisherman Sweater is also an excellent gear choice for this slot. If the OP finds a Fisherman Sweater later, he could always switch to 2x Fisherman's Sweaters. But it's a marginal difference really. Like half a degree of temperature, 1% sprint, and a little bit of weight. But the weight difference is not much because clothing weight is reduced by like 25-30% when you wear it.
I would probably just stick with the Cowichan + Fisherman, but I would also probably reserve a spare Fisherman Sweater if I find an extra, just in case. It's always nice to have a backup.
