Yes, it is always a good idea to rest up before climbing, and drink a little coffee first if you have it. If you do get stuck on a ledge while overburdened, you might need to drop some items and climb back down. You can come back for them later, but not if you are dead.
E-stims are also great for these spots, but they are extremely limited so use them wisely.
As a general rule, I try to have a fallback plan in case whatever I am about to attempt fails for some reason. If I need to climb back down, I will have a place nearby I can go rest up and rethink my situation.
but yes if you setup the main base wrong? then you can do that to by bring stuff over the time up to a hill.
