Step 2. Mash left mouse button (if you can't mash, you can turn on an accessibility feature, but it doesn't work as well).
Rest is predetermined and random. Predetermined as in: the more clothes protection and stamina you have left, the shorter the struggle will be. Random as in: the struggle could end almost immediately, or it can drag on for looong seconds. The longer the struggle lasts, the more hurt you get.
Ok, so we are back to the mash one button like your life depends on it ? Will give that a whirl - for some reason I thought it was left+right, or hold left to charge than right or something. Im also going through the changelogs since I have not been able to locate any sort of updated manual.
I need to find a way to practice this - I suppose starting new games and going wolf hunting is possible but there is no guarantee I will even have a weapon.
Thanks!
It is good that this option exists, but it is bad that 'press and hold' doesn't work as well (study with spoilers: https://hinterlandforums.com/forums/topic/38852-spoilers-data-and-conclusions-from-340-interloper-wolf-struggles/)
The guy who did the study suggests a two finger quick tap using your other hand. So, if you are right-handed, grab the mouse with your right hand and use two fingers from your left hand to quick tap the left mouse button.
Also, really important, as long as you have ANY tool on you, being above 80% condition is your best chance to survive. All the other factors don't matter as much. Carry a tool, keep your health up before travelling, and you won't die.
First off, drop the turkey leg. Chances are, the wolf will eat that instead of you. (smile)
I know from experience that lighting candles and hopping on one foot does absolutely nothing except maybe cause the wolf to roll on the floor laughing.
Hope the advice others gave above helps!
