Is the bearskin bedroll worth it?
It's 2 kgs heavier than the regular one, but the description says it provides a temperature bonus and keeps predators away (wolves? or also bears?)

I'm playing on voyageur and have pretty good gear now (+34°C) but I still need to make fires when sleeping outside, especially in Pleasant Valley when temps can reach -58°C during storms at night.

Does anyone know what the temperature difference is between the normal bedroll and the bearskin?

There are pros and cons to each bedroll. The bearskin one is much warmer, but also much heavier. Decide which of these priorities is more important to you. On Voyager I prefer cloth because it's easy to stay warm enough and weight is important with so much loot to carry.

sleep outdoors only with a snow shelter. sleeping bags do not offer protection outdoors

Honestly since Hinterland has added things like Well Fed and technical backpack lately, I don't find weight to be such an issue any longer. So I like the bear bedroll.

Absolutely worth if you stay lots of nights outside in the wild.

For the most part it's not worth it imo. The times that you will be sleeping you will be somewhere warm anyway, inside a cave, building or some other place. A normal bedroll will be enough.
There are a few places where one could be useful, a car, snow shelter or shallow cave with no warm part. These places are risky to sleep in without a fire, especially on harder difficulties. Even a bear bedroll may not be enough to save you if a blizzard were to hit while you slept.
If you are not bothered about weight then by all means carry one, there would be no downside.

I don't agree with you based on my playstyle.. I hate sleeping indoors or warm parts of the caves.. So to the OP. this is one of the first things I craft.

I sleep 90% of the time (not an exact number obviously) in cold (outside) part of the caves... 40 sticks and 1 coal get me trough the night on lvl 5 fire.

it is not...
its to heavy and its condiition goes down quick after that it gives you less heat then normal bedroll but its 3 times more heavy..
to repair it you not only need bear pelt and guts but cloth to so..its better to use normal bedroll..

I think what I am gonna do is craft a bearskin bedroll only when I plan to head for TWM and AC as there are few manmade shelters on most of the map there as for most other regions I have memorized where the bases are.
