It's hard to argue with an opinion that Subnautica and Green Hell are better, so I won't argue it. I'll state my opinion.
I think green hell is too EA yet to see where it goes. Remember that game Stranded Deep? that got like 1m purchases in the first half year? yeah, the game has pretty much gone nowhere. This game has been in EA for just about four years now and... gone pretty much nowhere. There's been changes and additions, yeah. not much.
I think it's too early to judge Green Hell as of now. I watched a couple videos and personally I couldn't stand the lack of things to do in the game. I watched this guy named "SplatterCatGaming" play it, and by episode 7 he had done pretty much everything and was set for infinite survival. (Obviously not infinite) On the other hand, SplatterCat had maybe 60 The Long Dark episodes and by the end of his last serise hadn't even completed his set goals.
Subnautica, sure. It's an opinion. Even with my new PC I can't run Subnautica with high settings and get decent FPS. I can run it mediuim - high and get 30 FPS. The game does look stunning, I agree, but... there's not much to do? I mean yeah you can explore the ocean forever and ever but 5 hours into the game you're set for infinite survival. There's a story line to follow, yeah, but the story line doesn't impact your game play that much. I watched Markiplier play it, the whole story, and it looked... eh.
This game on the other hand, has countless things to do. That is, once you get past day 200 or so. There's eight good size regions to explore, as well as three "connector" regions. There's loads of steam achivements to grind at aswell. There's so much hunting to do, crafting, or just watching the sunset. Personally, I love the artstyle of this game. It's wonderful. People that are use to games like Stranded Deep, Subnautica, Green Hell, etc, they won't understand The Long Dark's simplistic art style. While being simple and at times smudgy, you can't deny the cloudy sunrises and sunrises, the raging blizzards, the bittercold nights, you can't deny their beauty. :)
But, that's my opinion. xD
Edit; (forgive my ignorance, I didn't even read your whole post)
What's the part about the "devs not listening to feedback. . ." bullcrap? The moose, I'm fairly sure that was an inspired addition by the community to the devs. Also an updated clothing system, people hated the old one. Aswell as the new cooking system, people absolutely hated the old system, and love the new one. that was probably a feature inspired by the community. People also wanted a "renewable" (not sure if that's the right word) way to survive nearly infinitely. So they added beachcombing. People wanted new weapons, so they added bows and flare guns. People also wanted a way to catch rabbits, so the devs added the ability to throw rocks at the bunnies. Also I know climbing was a highly suggested feature, so the devs added ropes and roping points.
The list can go on and on. I'm just not sure where you got "devs don't listen to their community. . ." bullcrap. Did you suggest multiplayer and then the devs said no, and got your tummy upset? Not being rude here, but I just can't understand where you possibly got that from. :)
But like I said erlier, that's my opinion.
However, they would have been better off posting on the online forums, or sending private feedback to Hinterland via email, usint eh online "Contact Us" links.
And I am willing to bet the OP unsubscribed from their own thread right after posting it, or not long after.
I am also willing to bet that they don't care that you don;t care. Pretty sure they wouldn't have posted if they really cared about your opinion, my opinion, Jiffy's somewhat long winded opinion, or anyone elses' opinions.
Kinda seems silly to keep posting anything here in response of ebuttal to them or anyone else.
I'll unsub too. And go have a nice cup of hot cocoa. :)

LOL! Dude, thanks for pointing that out, Pegan. That's freaking hilarious.
Ever been to the dark souls community? or the Mount & Blade; Warband community? I'd say those communites are a heck of a lot more toxic than this one. This is a nice communtiy here at The Long Dark.
I googled "What is the biggest number?" and it came up with; "The largest number that has a commonly-known specific name is a "googleplex", which is a 1 followed by a googol zeros, where a "googol" is (a 1 followed by 100 zeros)." So, it looks something like;
1, 0000000000,0000000000,0000000000.0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,00000000,00 0000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000. Give or take a few zeros. LOL!
