Which map should I do Pleasent Valley, Desolation Point or Coastel Highway?
Hey guys, just wondering I'm starting a new stalker game and I'm having a hard time picking my map. BTW i have survived 70 days on pilgrim in Mystery lake - I'm not a nub. Anyway i would appreciate your feedback on which map i should do. (P.S tip and tricks on the map you've chosen would be helpful. Thanks! #muchappreciated

The density of Coastal Highway can set you up for success, and can act as a bit of hub to explore the rest of the world if you want to branch out further. Or you can spend many days exploring its nooks and crannies and never leave. Depends on what interests you in the Sandbox. :)

Yup, Coastal Highway is connected to mystery lake, desolation point and pleasant valley, so it is a nice place to start. I always start in Mystery lake though, I like to find the cache to have a good (and easy) start.
Be careful because the game is changed drastically if you are not in pilgrim. You get cold much faster, your needs are depleted pretty quickly as well, and most importantly, wildlife will chase you if you're on sight, and can hurt you badly : torn clothes, infections, blood loss, etc etc...
It is ok to die though, your next character will be on his toes :)

I would recommend either Mystery Lake or Coastal Highway to begin if you are looking for the easiest places to start

I would NOT recommend that you start on Pleasant Valley unless you want a touch more of a challenge early on than Stalker will already give you. The climate is more severe in PV and since you'll be starting there, you won't have any of the crafted clothing to offset that. The distances between things are also much greater so you'll will be exposed longer. The only upside is that the wolves are easier to avoid....but they are still there.

Delsolation Point could be OK, but you'll probably just end up moving to Coastal Highway anyway.

Timberwolf Mountain can also be OK because of the cargo containers, but if you've only played Pilgrim before, Stalker is going to be a big step up in difficulty.

Good luck and welcome to Beast Mode! AAAHHWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hey guys thanks for the feedback but - I'm looking for something a bit more challenging not Timber wolf mountain but in the middle :)
For The adventurer, and settler: Coastal Highway... Mystery lake's possibly.
For the challenged one: Pleasant valley, Possibly desolation point
If you want to die: Timberwolf mountain.
Hope dat helped :steamhappy:

Hi, I go back and forth between Pilgrim and Voyager, and I would always suggest Mystery Lake. For one, you have the opportunity for what Coldea mentioned, and also the map is a real mix when it comes to wildlife. There are totally safe areas and there are totally dangerous areas, and it being the beginner map it's a bit more forgiving for your first time with animal aggression. Pleasant Valley is not too bad for animals and hunting is a bit easier(wolves for crafting) but the waether is harsh and yes distance matters when you first start but there are super goodies at one location that always makes the risk worth it. I don't know how to flag spoilers so I won't say, but it is always there.

Edit...Just to say I have never played the Stalker level so, I couldnt say if that particular location is as awesome on Stalker as it is on Voyageur and Pilgrim, like other locations for looting, maybe it changes with the higher difficulty levels.

you always could just book it to the outbuildings and the barn then hoof it real fast to the homestead if you feel brave for PV

If you are not used to wolf attacks CH is a pretty rough place to learn about them.Except for the lake there are too many bad sight lines when you travel and they seem to like lurking around the places you most want to go.I would stay with ML until the wolves have killed you enough that you have learned the tricks to survive them.

Well coastal highway if your new to stalker lotta wolves at the gas station. But if you get some fishing tackles and a hatchet you'll be fine on stalker just gotta be prepared for wolves and that damm bear. Also a. Good base in ch is the abandoned lookout once your accoustouked to it. Hope this helps
