But to be honest, I try to avoid DP most of the time.
- Indoor/outdoor places for sleep
- Forge
- Coal in the mines near
- Deers in front
- Rabbits near (other side of Little Island)
- Beachcomig near (latte in game)
- Bench near
- Reclaimed wood, metal and some cloth in Hibernia
- Riken is easy place for hunt bear, wolves just need attract then with smell
- Moose spawn near (in the bridge).
Or if want walk a bit, can use Lighthouse without cross the bridges - climbing up by "parkour" on left side of rocks, but can't be encumbered.
Lighthouse- Two wolves roam there. One at the road near the entrance but will not follow you onto the bridge. You can "Skyrim"down the back of LL and you can actually climbup on the side. Just avoid the 2nd wolf.
Riken- If you do sleep in the bridge to deal with cabin fever dress warm, sleep 2 hours at a time and have a fire going all night.
Stone Church/ 2 mines set up- Have not a problem with wolves at the church and this location is central. You can store gear in the mines. out of all the regions DP on Stalker level has only 4 wolve not counting Scruffy.
The Riken has the forge, of course, and the bridge does seem to allow one to be "outside" and basically wind protected. The bear is the only predator that seems to come around the Riken. Deer are accessible near Little Island. It is possible to snipe the bear from the deck of the Riken.
The Lighthouse has an inside stove and a bed. The top of the lighthouse is protected, mostly, from the wind and you can build a fire up there (be careful where you put it so you don't end up in the fire if you go up there while it is burning). Wolves do not cross the nearest footbridge and usually do not cross the far footbridge. There are one or two ways down and up to the Lighthouse level from the ice without crossing the far footbridge. For cabin fever risk/affliction at the lighthouse, the top should provide an accessible location with ready access to the interior (the freeze out there and warm up inside yoyo) but I have never tested it only checked whether it is "outside".
The mine is a safe bet until you know your way round DP, of course you need a bedroll to sleep there, The church is okay but I always feel exposed there, though I've never been attacked there.
Riken is fine but most inhospitable imo, all steel, cold and draughty (apart from the forge). The only bed there is a mess and usually has a corpse - not a very pleasant bed-fellow albeit quiet.
Hibernia is alright but as it's a barn of a place, it does have a bed though, I will use it if I'm at that end of the map.
Good luck! :)
You can sidle up the side of the first island on the lighthouse path (on the side facing Katie's Secluded Corner just after the first bridge) and leave by the back, to make the lighthouse less fraught, but eventually a wolf will catch you coming home and the sightlines can be poor.
There other path for climb up in the opposite side - with good line of sight around for an eventual patrolling wolf.
The Church can be OK - although eventually an wolf came to catch rabbits in front, but move in/out is not too "comfortable" - even less that use bridges for Lighthouse.
ice edge for scavenging (fish etc), and place with wood sticks.
