What's some stuff you can do with spray cans other than their intended use?
So I keep finding a lot of spray cans in Interloper (about 10 spray cans in 6 days) and I feel like marking locations is not of much use to me.
What are you guys doing with your spray cans? Got any ideas for a 'creative use' of them or are you just discarding them like tin cans?

I've been marking all the caves and other places with the "danger" icon. To me it looks like Will's initials, so its like I am leaving little clues for the next guy.
The only practical use I've gotten out of them is marking lines from fishing huts so I can easily get back in blizzards.

If not for the "promise" that eventually the paint marking will degrade over time, I would use the marks to denote passages of safe ice in Forlorn Muskeg. I use to use cattail heads for that purpose but Lost and Found, "helpfully!?!", collected them all and put them in the regional lost and found. I went back to using campfires for paths that I used regularly.

I suppose that, when I ever visit Hushed River Valley, I would use spray marks for there to save on building campfires, except for critical locations, and having to carry things that weigh me down and/or will be swept up in another Lost and Found event.

Marking paths on ice, and marking spots where I've put rabbit snares that were productive.

* wonder if you can spray paint Methuselah... ,(story mode)
would he show paint at his campfires 2 & 3, then? :steamhappy:

I use it a lot:

- Mark rocks and trees on maps that I don´t know too much to find my way back home;
- When there´s a lot of houses (like in milton) I mark the doors of the houses I already looted;
- I spray houses that I may want to use as a secondary base;
- If I need to drop some decent loot behind like a spare rifle or nice clothing I mark the house door too (I also used the in game notes for that... like extra whetstone at Orca MT... after months playing I wouldn´t never remember)
- When I see a bear or I´m attacked suddenly by a wolf near a car or a house I paint a danger sign on it;

But I only carry one can with me, if I don´t have it I don´t get desperated... and when I´m gonna loot a big place like the Dam, I only pick the sprays if I have plenty of space to carry... if not I just leave´em there...

I know all of the maps pretty well, and already have the mapping achievement, but I wanted to try out spray paint for my most recent stalker run, so I have been mapping as I go. I have to say that mapping is much more entertaining than it used to be.

The polaroids hidden around the island really help map large areas at a time. Higher elevations help a lot now too. I find myself always looking for the next big hill to climb and it has been pretty satisfying.

As for the spray paint, I have used them to mark my bases (storage symbol), bear spawns (danger symbol), and moose spawns (hunting area symbol). It isn't really "necessary" since I have been using most of these bases for a long time now and know them by memory. The bear and moose spawns can be helpful though since those change between saves.

I was killing time so sprayed some arrows on the wall pointing to the dead guy inside Camp Office. Also filled his body with 60 sticks (I think he can handle a bit more).
