There's the 3rd moose location near the cabin close the 'Unnamed pond' too.
Also worth mentioning, they're not guaranteed, a moose can spawn randomly at one location, but that doesn't mean you'll always find one per map.
If you see a rabbit or two while out walking, they'll be there for a while, unless eaten. You could snare em or hunt them with rocks. Usually there are always some scattered around the areas in a not-so-subtle tug of game design.
Also, from my own experience, those trees are part of the scenery, that means: they will ALWAYS be there with a part of the bark missing, even if the mode shouldn't spawn moose (such as story mode), so, in short: if there's no moose on the area it should be: it might spawn there later... or might spawn in some other place... or it might not spawn in days, lol... that's the fun of hunting moose, i guess...
