My potential issue with this is though, if this could affect normal entering and exiting of the game, because if that was the case then people could be loosing out on a lot of loot and never know about it. But that seems very unlikely.
However, even if it just affects abrupt exiting of the game and not just alt f4 but crashes etc, then isn't it possible that it could despawn items on the larger outdoor maps aswell? Which if it was true would be resulting in a big loss of items all over, especially for someone like me that abuses the savefiles.
I use Alt+F4 a lot to exit the game every time i want to stop and i have never noticed even a single item dissapear, so i have to ask you: Are you completely sure the game finished saving before you alt+f4'ed? Also, when reloading the game it should be back at the state it was when it saved, if you enter a building, drop something and alt+f4: that dropped item will obviously not be where you dropped it but in your inventory.
Maybe not 'leave something there in the snow'? That would solve the problem.
Sorry, couldn't resist it anymore, lol, 4 hours was my limit
My problem?
