Wolf Bite Infection

So I have a wolf bite infection, Reshi tea, Antibiotics, and Old Man beard dressing has no affect. I am down to 13%. When I try something the game says that has no effect. Help me please!

If you used them from the medical UI and not from inventory (antibiotics or Reshi) you still need to rest to heal. Taking further doses without the rest simply wastes them.

That is odd. I always apply first aid from the inventory rather than the radial, as that allows you to 'target' what you are trying to heal (the radial only applies the first aid to whatever). If you are already infected, then yes, the healing process is two part - one, take meds, two, get whatever rest the game tells you that you need. It's 4 for sprains, 10 for infections I think. Find somewhere safe to sleep, suck down some calories, and sleep 10 hours in however many goes it takes.

Just to recap, bed rest is required before any meds will take their full effect and cure diseases. The only exception that I can think of is taking pain killers to instantly "cure" a sprained wrist or ankle malus rather than getting bed rest for the 2-4 hours needed to heal these injuries without the pills.

@iheartmyocd I misspoke. I mean if you just use them, like only drink the tea by double clicking on it, it isn't treated as medicine but as food.

It is a little disingenuous when 8/10 times you cure the infection risk..Then the two other times, the percentage goes down, and the UI tells you 'no effect', even after subsequent treatments. The thought of 'I guess I'll just sleep?' doesn't enter my mind, because that's how you die in this game, going to sleep with some underlying circumstance looming around.

I can't keep track of the UI changes as I check on this game every so often, maybe I'm missing something. That was after dumping probably 20 gallons of antiseptic on it..cause I was PO'd. Damn wolves are crazy this patch.

I'm an XB1 player and I found myself dumping a lot of the same meds on the same wound in the beginning of the UI change. Now I bring up the radial and choose the middle button to bring up my Afflictions page, make a mental note of what needs fixing for what, and then back out to radial to start applying. I'm not around the game at the moment to check but I think the time you need to sleep for certain wounds will also show up on the Afflictions tab.

When you get bitten, you get Infection risk at 50%. This percentage keeps growing over time. If you treat the wound quickly with Antiseptic or Old Man's Beard patch, the risk dissipates completely BECAUSE those treatments reduce the risk by ~50%. If you waiting longer, perhaps because you did not have any treatment, then applying the Antiseptic remedy only reduces the risk.
Eventually, you get Infection, which requires antidote (reishi tea, pills?) AND rest.
