Survival mode - Which plane did we crash in?

I was pondering about the lore of this game for a while, and I wondered; which plane did we crash in, playing survival mode? The plane in the mountains of "Mountain town" region, or the plane on top of the Summit in "Timberwolf Mountain"? Or is there a possibility we came from another plane? And if we came from one of these two planes, how can we start somewhere like Coastal Highway, completely opposite side of Great Bear?

Lot of parts missing to that plane on the mountain. I play both scenarios and others. Whatever the imagination brings!

Most recently I apparently decided to go hiking in HRV with almost no clothes when the world freaked out. Not my best plan but luckily I knew where somebody stashed some ear muffs, some crackers, nice pants and a whestone.

Why I waited until a blizzard to interrupt my under prepared camping trip to obtain them remains a mystery.
