Game glitch killed me 300 days Stalker
Haven't been playing my Stalker game much as I was maybe 300 days in and had it pretty well beat. Finally got everything to level 5, mapped all of TM, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in PV. Went to do some mapping and fell into a glitch I had spotted before near the river by Long Bend or Curve or something. Starts out the water turns to snow and I am crouched and can't get up. Can't get out of the riverbed. Finally can stand up and still can't get out. In the normal area so should have been able to. Tried saving and reloading, quitting game and reloading, sleeping and reloading. Finally, this being PV, the inevitable 70d below blizzard rolls in. Hung on as long as I could with max gear but nothing in my pack to burn but a few sticks as this was a simple mapping run near the farmhouse. Oh well, uninstall as I only play the sandbox and have had my fill. Got a lot of enjoyment out of the game but it is now tedious.

I'm doing mapping to. FM... holed up in poacher's camp, however last time I slept there, I got frostbite, my socks and boots were frozen apparently... such a mood destroyer :( I think I will follow your path too...

These are both simply learning experiences that build your capability in TLD.

Getting stuck in anything is an automatic "do not save" situation. If you are in water, Alt-F4 as quickly as possible before hypo sets in. As long as you were not injured, the game will restart back at your last save point (i.e., when you woke up, forwarded time, or transitioned an area).

With regard to frostbite, it sucks but is completely avoidable. FM has the specific tendency to get you feet wet if you travel across any weak ice. You just have to take off the clothing that is wet and dry it by a fire. If you sleep with it on and your fire goes out, it will freeze solid.

Just start another run and learn from the experience. Good luck!

There are save modifier to change those glitch. I used it once and they are really good to avoid such (not to cheat)

I'm with Lenny here. I've been able to crawl my way out of most of the 'holes' I've found in the maps. All the surfaces are too porous since the redux. Things sink through furniture, barrels, toolboxes, ice; Corpses of moose and bear bury 1/3 when they fall often taking your arrows with them. If a bug gets me, I just ctrl-alt-del out and avoid it.

Thanks for encouraging to continue! Well, I actually use that save mechanism too (together with backups). So I just loaded an older save and continued from there. I mapped FM out so I'm leaving it behind for the time being - with around 50-60 kg of loot.
