Desolation Point ---> Bleak Inlet?
I find the broken bridge bleak inlet; i navigate, but cant find a way to desolation point; but it does appear that desolation point connects to this area one way. Is this correct?

No, Desolation Point is in no way adjacent to Bleak Inlet. A region called Coastal Highway (and the Crumbling Highway transition region) lies in-between.

The connection, such as it might be, between Bleak Inlet and Coastal Highway would be the landslide blocked coastal highway and even then there might be a "transition zone" of sorts between them that we don't know about. Depending on how episode 4 and 5 play out, that landslide block might disappear eventually and allow for quests to occur between them.

Iwasa is correct; BI is adjacent to CH not DP.

I suspect that the ammunition reloading and the aurora-powered drill press may well figure in one or more quests in episode 4 or 5. Makes sense, doesn't it. Whether it is Perseverance Mills or some other town beset by timberwolves, the capacity to repair firearms and tools as well as craft additional ammunition seems tailor-made for a long distance quest.

Episode 3 was also the first in Story mode where Astrid just popped into existence as far as game-play went. We can't backtrack to where she was found near the end of the tunnel whereas we can basically do that with Will (in survival mode).

I'm really hoping they connect BI and CH.. there's two logical connection points. I don't know why, but it gives me so much satisfaction when they clear a landslide or open a blocked cave.

Hoping they stick the region with Perseverance Mills in the space between MT and PV too.. also two perfect connection points.

Inlet is connected to CH through the Ravine region connector.

Imagine that Great Bear Island is like, an island. Bear with me... The current world map doesn't really reflect a landmass that is bounded by water on all sides, does it? No. But if we could somehow just cut the map into it's respective regions and glue it to a beach ball (LOL) then the broken bridge in DP would meet the broken bridge in BI. Or could.

Oh, the thoughts one thinks while trudging from DP to HRV (why do I have to go the long way, travelling from east to west when just going west would be so much faster?)

I disagree. This is what I was saying to JayXL also. BI is not adjacent to DP; the entire zone of CH is between BI and DP.

Here is an old world map for reference:

Or here is a new world map for reference:

But either way, I do not see how BI could possibly connect to DP.

LOL? I never insinuated that BI is adjacent to DP. Why do people keep assuming I have the map knowledge of a new player?

I was talking about a possible future connection between BI and CH. Look at your own world map link. There's a logical connection point. CH is obviously between BI and DP.

Also, I believe Martial.Lore was being a bit facetious, but I could be wrong.

Oh I see what you were saying now, and yeah I think that could make sense. Sorry for my confusion. I'm trying to picture how this would work (BI connecting with CH). It would have to be the part of BI with the road near the bear cave... isn't there a cave-in? And isn't there also a cave-in on the road in CH south of the Fishing Village?

Still, it would make entering the zone/Cannery really easy if they directly connected something else to BI, so I'm skeptical they would.

I also wish they would do something else (anything, i.e. expand it a bit or add another connection) to Broken Railroad, but now I'm getting off topic.

Again, I was talking about connecting BI and CH. I don't see a mention of DP.

Inlet is connected to CH through the Ravine region connector.

I like BR.. But it's pain!! Almost costed me current run.. It's always a long walk, and blizzard almost killed me.. Found little spot to worm some teas.. Made it to FM with 11% condition..

But if they connect it to another region it'll lose most of it's charm...
Triggerhappy Mar 12, 2020 @ 2:37am
It's because you keep saying you want inlet and ch to be connected, and they already are.
Triggerhappy Mar 13, 2020 @ 1:53am
They connect some regions via small and narrow connectors such as other regions and caves. It's a thing they do. You should know this with your 1600 hours of game time and extensive map knowledge. That's how they've -very obviously- decided to connect ML and CH to Inlet, otherwise they would have changed the connections as they were designing the region. It's likely part of their plan for players to progress through the story mode. Astrid made her way to CH, and they put a lot of effort into a new region and how it connects to CH, so I suspect it will come into play for the story. I don't expect it to change from its current configuration.
