Ok, if faced with the other 2 in Stalker, I'm still going with the Deerskin. Sprint hit is a killer.(literally).
Always ideal if you can find them. ^^^
Deerskin Boots are a close second-best. Their main drawback (compared to Mukluks) is that they are 1.1 lbs heavier (which is ~0.8 lbs after subtracting 25% for wearing). The other differences between Mukluks and Deerskin Boots are negligible.
I would rank the Insulated Boots as third-best due to the -12% sprinting penalty.
But I would rather use Insulated Boots than Ski Boots (the 8.8 lbs and the 20% sprint reduction are brutal).
I asked for a "kicking" mechanic for struggles a long time ago, and they'd be great ,if their extra heft gave them extra dmg to the wolf if you kicked it a few times.
They keep adding new things, and changing the game up. Still hoping for kicking.
And I'll never stop pestering for
