Best campfire location Coastal Highway?
I'm looking to set up a 3 day campfire for the deep forest achievement. I'm at Coastal Highway but can't find any spots where I feel confident that my campfire won't get blown out. I've looked at both caves closest to the Coastal Townsite (where I'm based) neither of which look great.
Any ideas?

For a style bonus (no actual points) build the campfire right on the stove in the fishing hut. You could also do it in the entrance to the mine (the one to PV) so it's a little like a cave. Kill the Misanthrope Bear, use the cave. Build in one of the pickups? I don't know if they are completely windproof, but again, style.

The easiest way is probably to use a fishing hut, but I've definitely used that Misanthrope bear cave before as well (after killing the bear, in the time before he respawns).

I did this on Mystery Lake. I used the cave entrance near the 3 lake cabins beside the climbing rope. The cave seems very well protected on all sides. Also, lot of reclaimed wood from the furniture inside the cabins.

It doesn't let me place the campfire inside the fishing hut for some reason.
Misanthrope bear cave is not totally protected from the wind.

Also, abandoned mine counts as indoors. Have the mines and fishing huts been changed since the new update or something does anyone know?

Transition caves usually have a area in their mouth protected by wind.
Perhaps is the same with mines.

In Quonset a campfire at side of truck in front door is protected.

Done! :campfireTLD:
Thanks for the tips guys!

Did it in the tunnel between CH and Ravine in the end. Definitely couldn't start a fire anywhere inside any of the ice fishing huts.

Do the potbelly stoves inside the fishing huts not count for the purpose of the achievement?

For future reference, the DP stone church is a great place. Just need to bring food. Collect coal through the mine and you have enough for 3 days. Hunt if you need more food. No need to try do it in CH.

And, No. Potbelly stoves do not count. Needs to be a campfire.

There are no outside caves in CH
There is a small ditch near enterance to ravine.

This was possible with old campfire - you can place one over porches rails corner, over fallen trees...
With the new big two cocking place campfire the places became limited.

Definitely good advice, Coastal Highway is not the best location to try for this achievement. Really difficult to find decent shelter outdoors.

Well.. no caves in CH and no campfire in the huts, so the next best spot is the Ravine. Three caves to choose from. I'm surprised your fire never got blown out in that tunnel! It can get so windy through there.

Well, it had the wind protection icon up the whole time as far as I remember, despite a small blizzard whipping up. Maybe I got lucky with thee wind direction!
