For you attacking/hunting a wolf you have stones, rifle, bow & arrows, and distress pistol (flare gun). Rifle is not avaialble in Interloper mode. If you have not found a weapon yet, or crafted a bow & arrows (which can aslo be found redy made in the wilds), you need to get exploring and searching, everywhere. They are often hidden in odd places, sometimes in plain sight.
The game is about the collapse of society and humans falling from the top of the food chain. It is about survivng against Nature, not about going on a killing spree. It isn't a hack & slash or FPS game.
And btw, some of us girls are pretty darn accurate with throwing stones and other things. So throwing like a girl is actually a good thing. Practice, and you may get better at it, and throw like a big girl. :)

I have a weapon but need aim :)
my only chance to hit a wolf is at point blank range with the rifle :(
For now do your best to avoid wolf confrontations and avoid wolves, bear and moose, until you have a weapon or weapons. Easier said than done, I know, but with time you'll learn how to distract wolves with those stones, so you can sneak by, and you'll learn where they most commonly patrol at.
It takes time. The game is not an easy learn.
Stones are however great to distract them and get them to move elsewhere. They will follow the noise
In general people overestimate how much they need weapons. Especially a rifle. If you know the wolf areas are careful you can greatly minimize most wolf encounters. In many (but not all) places there are alternate routes you can use avoid wolves
Hushed River Valley can also have a distress pistol now. But I don't know if it's garantueed
that just happened to me too. i survived.. and then I got up. he was walking away from me all proud of himself. I stood up, wobbling around, nearly fainting, and shot him in the ass with an arrow. .. He didnt like that very much. LMFAO
