With Errant Pilgrim, there is a capability to completely repair a hacksaw and other tools but where that can occur is limited to one specific spot and certain circumstances. It is kind of equivalent to when Desolation Point was introduced along with the forge on the Riken. It can be a long walk to do something but if you have to then you have to. You should think about it and maybe make a few preparations just in case.
but I really want it early in the game with a heavy hammer to get as many metal as I can and make at least 30-40 arrowheads as soon as I can...
That happened to me too recently. So annoying especially since BR is definitely not my favourite map!
* TM cargo crates
general usage
* small sized natural woods,
* saplings
* metal objects
* carcass
comparison
* lighter than handcrafted axe
* can be fixed with toolkit anytime as long as metal scrap is provided, when most other chopping/cutting tools(knife/axe) needs grindstone or milling machine
* fast when getting meat off the frozen carcass
personal opinion (loper)
* is a tool mostly used for anything.
* doesn't need to worry about losing durability.
* since its lighter than handcrafted axe, and does most of the axe job, so i carry saw instead of axe (i don't carry axe right after cutting through HRV, BI)
