So there's a rope in the cannery...
I didn't notice it right away but there's a rope laying in the wheelbarrow in the cannery. This really makes me think it's supposed to be used to hang somewhere to make the cannery reachable without going through the whole obstacle course every time, but I couldn't find anywhere to hang it. Even if this isn't a thing, it would be a good idea to make it a thing. There's plenty of pier posts to hang a rope from, after all. Best would be to drop it down somewhere into the cannery yard though, maybe from a metal rafter like the one that the first rope hangs from.

Isn't it meant to be used to climb down from the Radio tower?

Maybe tie a stone to one end and toss it over one of the exposed beams? If you know your knots, I think you can forge a bit with scrap metal and make a bridle for bareback moose riding.

(Says TLD player who forgot that extra rope was in his pack and could't figure out why he racked up a dozen sprains over a few days.)

I just "skyrim" down at left of rope attachment rock, no sprains take.

I was thinking about it some more and it would make the absolute most sense to be able to hang it in the middle of the warehouse with the split floor level (that has the ceiling crane in it and the machine laying down on the ice below) ...it could be put in a spot that is accessible from the ceiling level and uses the floor level as a "ledge" but goes all the way down to the ice, making it usable for easily getting to both the cannery warehouse and the cannery yard.

I have tried so many times to attach the rope to the crane hook. As you say, it makes most sense to have it exactly there.... to the point that the rope can only be attached to the crane hook from above, meaning you already solved the obstacle course and have reached the upper level of the building.

I looked everywhere. Can't find a place to tie it either. The hook did seem like the most obvious place... maybe it can be operated during an aurora to move it closer?
Or maybe they just haven't coded a place in yet :(

I've tried to move the crane during the aurora, but couldn't find a panel to activate. I think your second statement is correct...."they just haven't coded a place in yet"

Look at this discussion on Raphael Twitter : https://mobile.twitter.com/RaphLife/status/1205498007984263168

I think maybe there is a shortcut to unlock for the cannery.

What do you think?

There's no way to neither climb, neither 'Skyrim' your way down the mountain since there are fences everywhere. Ranger tower on the other hand has it's out rope in it. It's hanging on the wall on the outside. But yeah, it's as in the Workshop misses the 'shortcut'. The route itself is just tedious to do over and over again.

Actually, I skyrimmed my way down the radio tower mountain, so.

Hmmmmm. I read that Twitter thread and re-watched the release video and I don't see any obvious clues related to a short cut between upper and lower BI (or in/out of workshop).

I have skyrimmed from upper to lower BI a bit to left of the upper rope anchor and I've been to the workshop (the long way) twice. The Twitter thread is a bit ambiguous. Maybe Raphael is suggesting there's a short cut into the workshop (that's available after you go once). Maybe? (Or maybe Raphael is just noting that you need to use the rope to enter the shop.) Not sure.

Like others I looked endlessly for a short cut rope placement to the milling room ,never found one and I sure can't see any clues in the video...and I also found the repeated Tomb Raider stuff to get back and forth between auroras very tedious.Would welcome a spoiler on this if anyone has one.-especially if you figured it out from the video-I watched it 10 times.

Checked every piling, rafter, and window sill and found no attach points. Cast a suspicious glance at the part of the pier that goes a bit lower (great for wolf sniping btw) and also at the levers along the route, but nothing. At least not during the day. I don't recall them working during an aurora either but it's worth double checking.

I think the spoiler in trailer is the rope outside of lookout, for use for climb down for lower part of BI.

The only place that make sense attach a rope in Canary is in the crane in the shed with broken floor.

I walk above that crane but don't find way to put a rope there.

For leave Workshop just jump from the inclined pier at left of door for this shed, is safety.

Where are the killed Twolf in this picture:

Or if you are inside Canary area, go to broken floor and jump over the machinery bellow.

For enter workshop again, no alternative only by the "parkour" Tomb Raid way. :steamfacepalm:

In Twiiter they talk about a ladder...
